Approx 87" overall and 28mm. Looks identical to pics and details of "70s bar" posted by morebarbell, Skinny, and swimmer32.

I took out the 2 set screws on the inside collar and can't get it off. I tried some medium hit with a rubber mallet. Is it interference fit pressed onto the knurling? One was a hair loose already and the other was tight. I was trying to take it off to clean it up a little easier but if it's pressed on there I don't want to have to beat if off (huh huh) and beat it back on and end up being more loose even when tightened.

Met up with Mut, Skinny and Gene. Completed a trade with NDMike, Matrix helped move it along. Multiple hand offs traveling from MI to NJ. 708 miles. Thanks everyone.

Between various trades I picked up 100lb roundheads, 1952 Squat stands, early '70 check mark stands marked york, and a Stainless Steel York bar, photos posted pages back.

You're less likely to smell ether, when visiting MUTASSIN, if you bring family along. Or, meet him in a public location. He will try and feel up, under the guise of "checking to see if you really work out, unlike the other collectors."

Nice. That little ring of grey on the donut is cadmium plating. York used cadmium in the 60's & 70's. I speculate cadmium plating fell out of favor b/c the process is extremely toxic.

Thanks, I was wondering about the finish. I was thinking it was the satin chrome mentioned. The inside of the inner collar has some dark splotches that don't want to clean up easily. Any suggestions?

I guess it's possible, but I would have guessed if the sleeves were satin chrome, that the bar would be too. One tip off to cad plating is that it comes off extremely easy with a wire wheel. Here are some examples of York cad plating. The pins are from a vintage York WW power rack.

The diameter of the flat is very close that of the deep dish, with the deep dish being a hair larger.

They were of the mind set that weight is weight so they agreed to trade me 985lbs. of the older York plates for 985lbs. of Cap standard barbell plates that I still had. They just need a little clean up.
