You need a good rack, a bench, and a 300-lb Olympic weight set. Now, what was your question?

I found several 25's and 35's in this style, and if it helps, they are blue and not milled.Boomer Rep Crew #1

In other news, I picked up another vintage York olympic bar today for $75 figuring I could make a couple bucks off it this week.
I stopped short at a short yellow light, bar slid forward and destroyed the screen of the stereo.

Sounds like the bar was pissed that you want to flip it. Guess you should keep it now to make up for the bad karma it gave you?

Lol, I don't know. I've got 4 myself, mainly because I can't make myself get rid of one. I've got a York, Rogue, Ivanko, and some unknown brand that I love deadlifting with. Then I have a safety squat bar, 2 trap bars, a cambered squat bar, a bent cap bar that I do rack pulls with, a fat bar, and swiss bar.

But mine are all the same, well three York Oly's and one York power.
I envision one day having the power bar stay in the rack for squats and bench. One dedicated to deads with bumpers on it, and one outside the rack for OHP.
What to do with the fourth.Boomer Rep Crew #1

Do what I have. Leave your squat bar loaded at the back of the rack. On the inside of the front of the rack have your multi use bench, row, curl bar. I then have one on the floor for deads. Works well, and saves you haveing to switch the levels of your pins all the time- going from squat to bench with the same bar and pins is a PITA.

The blue York plates and dumbbells were made by York for sale in sporting goods stores. Champion's and/or Chammp's (sp?) are the names that most often come up when people recall buying them or seeing them for sale. The blue paint is supposedly more resistant to wear and tear than the black on the weights that York sold directly.
The plate has similar markings to today's unmilled version. These may have been made in the US, or they may have been made overseas. In the 1990's York was selling unmilled plates for the "commoditized" segment of the market and US-made and milled plates for the customer who wanted quality plate. Problem is, few want quality plates with minimal variation of weight between plates. You need a good rack, a bench, and a 300-lb Olympic weight set. Now, what was your question?

Finally got a couple York plates to add to my DB set and Bar. Any time frame or info on these? Bought them from an old Powerlifter out of Dayton Ohio.
This bar isn't a York bar is it? The collars have a similar feel to my other York bar.
Nothing is impossible.

70's to 90's on the plates. The bar does not appear to be a York bar.

So I picked these up today, Along with 290# of oly plates. Its a good story.. Took a 2hr drive to upstate NY for a machine and 400# of plates for cheap. He then tells me he had 2 sets of his dads plates out in the woods. He just didn't know where and said if we found them I could have them. The 45's were next to a big rock glowing like a leprechauns pot of gold. Low and behold a pair of York deep dish 45's. . The 35's were/are MIA.. He said he is moving and if they turn up he will meet me somewhere.

Try some two-handed front raises with a 45lb deep dish and follow with some behind-the-head tricep extensions. You will hear them loud and clear......
