If I miss it next time I'm considering progressing triples for a bit. Either the powerlifting progression from Greyskull LP which is 2x3 then 1x3+ or I might just do straight 5x3 for more tonnage.

I would normally deload but I plan to switch to Texas Method quite soon and a deload would mean another month on LP at least. I'm trying to get all my lifts to stall together and my pressing is on it's way back from a reset so I think triples make sense right now.

Awesome! I need to get a quality belt like that one day.

    Also...

Here is the video of all my squats from the other day. Definitely one of the hardest squat sessions I've had...

For the sake of reference I'm counting the first 5 reps as 1 set. On the 1st 2 sets I felt too loose under the bar. My chest is dropping quite a bit and I think it's because my grip was too wide. I don't know how the 3rd rep went up on the 2nd set. I've never hit a wall like that and completed the rep, so that's good. On the last set I brought my grip in an inch and grabbed the bar tighter. It felt better and I really thought I had the 4th rep but I think I just gave up when it felt like becoming a real grinder. On a day when I'm not tired I'm sure I would have fought through. I do think I've got 5 reps in me at this weight.

Not sure on how to improve my technique other than being tighter under the bar. I guess I could sit back into the squat more and keep the knees pushed out as they did wobble a bit out of the hole on some reps.

holy **** those looked tough. brutal bro. i noticed that ur grip is a bit wide and your chest dropped on at least one rep but the biggest thing is probably your wide grip. do u always squat with your arms that wide?

we all have bad sessions tho - last session i could only do 280x 1 lol it was tough.

looking forward to you breaking that plateau next session. it'll be nice for you knowing that u got a vid of u failing on it previously.

i think you're giving up way to soon. gotta grind those reps out man, the last rep should take several seconds to complete.

also, I didn't know there was a GSLP for powerlifting, I read the book and didn't notice a 3x3 version

I moved them out wide because of elbow problems but I've made no attempt to bring them in lately which I clearly need to do. It was actually more comfortable when I brought them in a little for the last set. Thanks for the feedback!

    2nd edition, pg 74/75.

I agree. I gave up too quickly. Lack of sleep really reduces my will. I just wasn't up for it enough. What I will say though, is they looked easier than they were.

That was a couple of weeks back now but thanks! I have a cheap PL belt made by SV Performance I think. Cost about £20. Inzer belts are way better. I'm pretty set on getting something similar, a Titan Toro Bravo lever belt, when I have a spare 80 quid. That's about 125 dollars.

Holy crap why so expensive!? I believe the Inzer belts are about $80 or so. And the EliteFTS version of the Inzer belt (pretty much the same I believe) is $60...

You just can't get cheap, good quality belts in England. You can't get cheap, good quality anything. The cost of living over here is alot more. You name a product, it'll likely cost more here. That's why half of us wanna move over to your country lol.

Can't wait till I get mine in February! My lifts better be decently higher than they are now for me to feel qualified to wear a PLing belt.

That sucks, but it's okay. Spend that $125 just once and use it your whole life. Getting really excited to get mine.

Legs felt ok after but I held back a bit as it was really dark and I couldn't really see the path I'd chosen to sprint up. Probably a RPE of 8. Would have rather done boxing but I have lots of food to cook (my next 4 lunches/dinners) and places to go.

Benching was suprisingly hard. I used a different bar, a bit fatter, could've been that. I'm sure fatter bars have always worked in my favour though. Maybe I'm just tucking my elbows alot more. I should be owning this weight, not grinding it out.

Squats felt stronger today but still very heavy. On the 2nd set, I finished the 4th rep, wanted to rack it, but I knew I had to fight on. I descended and BANG, hit the left pin which threw me off and ended the set right there for me. I was pissed. Had to take all the plates off and load it back on etc, took 10 minutes rest (as I did on set 1, longest ever), and attacked it. It was pure war. Felt so good to get all 5 reps. It's time to up the weight

Power cleans felt good. That 10 set mega session a couple of weeks back really helped. I might have to do that every month or so if I can fit it in. Maybe I'll drop it in every 5 recovery days on Texas Method or something. Just go power clean crazy once a month. Do some front squats with it perhaps.

Skipped pull ups. Left arm was a little achey. Same arm I hurt boxing last week, best not push it. Just finished off with some power clean singles which were absolutely fantastic.

I'm quite happy with my squat form. I might post this in the exercise section though to see what people pick up on. Power cleans have come on leaps and bounds but I could make the bar path more efficient by jumping back less.

Nice job man. I hate when I hit the safeties while squatting, always throws me off. Because of this, I always walk completely out of the rack to do my TM VD sets. Way to come back and nail all 5 reps on the last set.

I've seen you do that. I wouldn't have the balls. It was 50/50 that I'd get the last rep on all my sets so I'd be too worried to do it outside the rack. I can always lower the pins a bit on my gym's rack. And thanks! It felt good to finish em.

Yeah, I don't have the balls to do it on ID when I'm trying to set a new PR. If I were you, I would lower the pins. It's not like bench where if you have the safeties too low you're going to get pinned down.

Nice work man. Those squats looked easy. I wouldn't worry too much about the bench, I often find that I feel pretty weak on the heaviest of my warmup sets but when I get to my work sets they actually feel easier, probably just because I take the time to get properly psyched for it I suppose. Plus you injured your shoulder so it's only natural that it'll be a bit weaker than it was. The strength will return quickly though.

Thanks. Those squats most certainly were not easy. Every muscle in my body was screaming at me. It's crazy how much different they look watching it back. Yeah, pretty confusing on the bench press but hopefully your right

    COMMENTS
OHP was a grind fest. I decided to begin microloading and then hopefully equal then beat my PR in next weeks workouts.

Deadlift felt heavy but only really for my legs. This belt has put the strength ceiling for my back up alot. My left bicep tweaked a little on the last rep. That's the hand I supinate so I best make sure I straighten my arms properly before I tear it. Attempted two beltless DOH singles with the 145kg a minute or two after but my grip gave out both times. First rep got to my thighs. Second rep to my knees. Meh.

Rows are heavy as. Failed rep 6 on the lat set. I know there should be no hip extension on these but I'm finding I need to initiate with a little hip extension just to stay parallel. The weight just drags me towards it otherwise.
