Hop on vtc.com and buy yourself a day pass or a month wtv, and watch the videos, it's like 8-9 hours all together.
When I was learning HTML and XML I got 94% in my computer class because of that site.

i kind of prefer books for this stuff and i do not really like videos because it is more difficult to go and look at things for reference.
anyone tried stanford's free cs online stuff?

lol @ phaggots who hype c++
and dont buy books, google will ALWAYS give you better answers, for free, and quicker.
i've bought a few books over my days, never read more than a chapter in any one of them, you can't teach programming out of a book, you have to learn by doing.

i actually have a good book for the basics. took it first semester, learned it all by myself with the book and skimming through it, haha.
if you want i'll give it to you for shipping costs + a little more

This, use a simple online guide for learning material, but you won't learn much more from a book.
Also I wouldn't be dissing C++ looking at the list of languages you use
C/C++ are still some of the most used languages in the world
