    Whats the best way to take Taurine, and what are it's benefits?

    I got a free tub of Taurine powder, but it doesnt say when to take it. Ive read several different things but Im still not sure when and how much to take and what its benefits are.

    I imagine that it would make for a good pre-workout supp. Also nice to mix with some whey and sip on it during training

    Suggested Usage: As a dietary supplement take 1 level scoop (1000 mg) or 1 vegetable capsule, with water or your favorite beverage 2-3 times daily with meals or on an empty stomach

    They put that shiet in energy drinks like Monster, NOS, etc.. probably has something to do with short-term wakefulness or bursts of energy. Basically works alongside the caffeine in boosting brain function, energy, reaction time, etc. Try it and see what the effects are like OP. Benefits growth/maintenance of skeletal muscle + healthy blood pressure, and it occurs naturally in foods. It's definitely nothing bad, just don't overdo it.

    even when you dont ride i found it helps. i just take 5g in the morning. put it in your mouth then swallow juice with it or something.

    Its not a stimulant (despite it being marketed that way).

    You may actually end up getting quite sleepy during your workout with it. It helps with cramps and increases fluid retention within your muscles. Therefore I would take it the same was as you would creatine - post workout with a fast acting carb source to ensure optimal absorbtion. I usually take about 2-10g depending on how I feel (bad ass cramps, dehydrated, hungover e.t.c)

    I started taurine too because I suspect I have trouble maintaining good potassium, magnesium and calcium levels. Should I take taurine with the electrolytes or doesnt it matter?
