a good way to catch cats is to use a piece of another fish like a sunfish. i mean a large piece. no other fish will mess with it. cast it in the evening and success. take a sunny cut it into 4ths or even 3rds

I used 3/4 of a rock bass last night and Got some bites. Pulled the line in after a while and line was bite off like clean cut. I also had a fishing pole fly over the bridge railing because of a fish haha. We caught the pole back eventually and the fish was off it.

Ok my mind cannot comprehend what happened two days ago. For the sake of hanging out, my buddies and I went fishing two days ago.
Temperature 32-44 degrees
fishing from 6am to 12
Up until 10, 2 fish caught (blue/silver 3in poppers because yolo)
10-11 another 2 fish caught at a secret spot we go to for guaranteed but not big bass. (blue/silver 3inch poppers)
We decided to progressively move further down the lake
11-12, EVERY SINGLE CAST with a bright colored crankbait was a fish. I had an orange/red crankbait, my friend had an orange, and my other friend had blue orange red
Ended the day with 46 bass total in frigid temps. There was a solunar period at 12, and for whatever reason the fishing died out.
I would've caught more fish to break 50, but I was too busy taking pictures then turning around to take pictures and then turning around to take pics again.
Only 5 were over a lb so not even pic worthy.
Has anyone else had a day like this on freshwater?

Not in fresh but locate a school of feeding fish in the bay and it's ON... until it's off. Like flipping a switch.

Yeah, they're gags. Only one I'm not sure about is the middle right, rarely catch them.

I did some fishing last month. Did not catch anything worth keeping on the first trip. Just a few small guys. However the second outing let me get some trout which was delicious on the grill.

LOL yeah I think there's a consumption advisory for those.
Over the next hour or so we ended up netting 7 Milky Beasts, 4 diet Mountain Dew, 1 HEB vanilla Cola, and 1 water bottle. I never saw any boats really nearby, never saw an ice chest floating around, and pretty sure nobody sunk out near us or we would have heard some commotion because it was super calm and quiet out there. I'm guessing somebody lost a chest probably the day before and didn't realize it.

I've got some GREAT pictures from my last camping/surf fishing trip. As soon as I hit 50 posts, I'll hit them up. Let me put it this way..we stopped counting oversized Redfish at 30, and ended up with 3 sharks from 5-6.5' long.
Soon as I hit 50, I'll post them up.

Rockport, Texas.
Freaking love it down here.
I think you're on Corpusfishing.com too.
I saw the sharkathon pics there.
The wife and I used to sell MalibuKayaks out of Katy a few years ago.
