    Should I lose fat or build muscle first?

    I have recently been losing weight, I started at the beginning of the year at about 195 or so. Now I am at 187 but I want to lose the fat and build muscle at the same time, yes I know you can't do both. Which should I choose first? Is it better to bulk up first then lose the fat? Or should I lose the fat first then bulk? Currently I eat about 2400 calories a day, I have been losing weight. Should I up it to 2500-2600 or 2900 to bulk? I have hear different things, some say you can bulk and stay lean if you only increase your calories by 100 or so, but you gain slowly. Which should I do in order to build muscle but cut the fat?

    Lets put it this way, I have no gut hanging out, but no abs, I think I need to lose more fat, but I do not want to look like a stick, I want to have some muscle.....what should I do?

    Post a pic. Regardless, you will get different answers from different individuals. Some will say bulk up, some will say cut. It depends on what YOU want (short term and long term).

    You want to lose the fat first but weight training is imp. in doing this. You can increase your muscle mass while losing fat. Fat just comes off slowly.

    Based on your stats alone, I would say bulk. I was 6ft and 183 when I started my bulk, no six pack either. See AVI. Small arms, small chest, etc. If I would have kept cutting, I would be skin and bones at six pack time. So I'm bulking. Building a base to cut to. But, post a pic.

    Manu he is a troll, he posted multiple threads two days ago where he was either bulking or cutting. He was given reasonable advice none of which he acknowledged. Psychodiver and I both gave up pretty quick.

    I am not a troll, that's hurtful, I don't think I am that bad looking. I am just trying to figure out what I can do for the best results for me.
