My cousin adopted a kid from Haiti, his name is Maxon aka Max.
He has been an orphan all his life. His dad no one knows about, mother mentally unstable to take care of him.
Today was his second day in America (flew in to Miami yesterday). He was bombarded with family coming over to see him today. Understands very little English etc.
Never had the luxuries of food whenever, never been able to just go outside and enjoy GRASS and shoot hoops. No real shoes until today (family took him to the mall and got him some Jordans haha)
But we live each day like man I wish I had a better car, or more money etc, this kid is just getting to really live a nice life for once in his life
He's a very happy kid, but stays close to my cousin, and he's pretty sad after having to leave his friends from the orphanage. Kid is cool as ****. But anyways, I guess the point I'm trying to make is, live life, stop taking it for granted, and enjoy it.
A lot of people have it a LOT more worse than us.

Thanks man. Means a lot. Any good words will be sent to my cousin who actually adopted him. She has taken MANY trips down there and had to jump through hoops to get him, but she finally did. Man I have been sitting here, gonna be 2 years behind on college after this next fall semester, not because I've been lazy, but because I'm paying off my loans for school before I go back.
