Amino Acid Profile of Greek Yogurt?

I recently read an article in a magazine which said that Greek Yogurt has high amounts of Leucine.

But I searched online for the amino acid profile of Greek Yogurt and have found nothing. I assumed Greek Yogurt protein is basically just Casein and Whey, is this correct? Does anyone know the ratio of Casein to Whey in Greek Yogurt?

Ditch your meal plan and develop a diet that combines sound nutrition with the foods you enjoy by eating when you see fit in the portions that allow you to achieve your macronutrient and caloric needs while providing sufficient micronutrients, energy and satiety. One can never forget that nutrition is a tool, not a restraint; the enjoyment of life should always come first. Psychological, sociological and emotional health should never be threatened by the attempt to increase physiological health.

Greek yogurt is more dense because the whey has been strained. It's all *casein. Regular yogurt contains whey, but the protein content is far less. I eat Chobani yogurt every morning with granola and fruit. Great way to load up on protein in the morning.

*EDIT: The Chobani website says the remove the liquid part of the whey, but there is still an abundant amount of whey in their Greek yogurt. BONUS!

OK. No where in that thread does it mention the amino acid profile or amount of leucine in Greek Yogurt.

Thanks for being a d!ck though.

Me too. 0% plain. The flavored is loaded with sugar and all sorts of extra ingredients we don't need. If I want to sweeten it I add a little honey. It doesn't take much. Another good thing to add to greek yogurt is roasted flaxseed. Trader Joe's sells roasted flaxseed with blueberry that tastes excellent.

Back to your OP. It sounds like greek yogurt contains casein and whey, so you've got all your BCAA's. Win all around.

Nutritiondata.com. Since they dont have strained yogurt, i think you could assume the leucine is a bit higher/oz than whats listed since its strained.

Thanks! Exactly what I was looking for. It's frustrating when you read an article saying that Greek Yogurt has high amounts of Leucine and then they do not give any actual amount or source of where they got that info.
