go to Hagg Lake. I usually catch a variety of things, mainly bass there. I can only think of one time I went and didn't get anything and that was last time I went. I always catch something.

Show up to a fishing spot that is great in spring, but gets thick mats during the summer.
It's already pretty dense compared to most years.
    Spoiler!

Wish I had a frog, lacking one in my new tacklebox. I have a heavy weedless jig that I thought I'd try...on my first cast I pulled up this:
    Spoiler!

For reference I am a size 12 shoe.

Went home, got my frog, came back to fish and missed the one hit I got. Been a full year since I've had a topwater frog hit so my heart rate flew up. Storms were approaching so I knew this was my time to fish for sometime until they clear out and things go back to normal.
The tick population in our area had a population boom this year and this spot is the only place in the area where I get ticks every time. Did a mandatory tick check before heading home and found this guy (for reference the yellow is the dashed line of a street if you couldn't tell).
    Spoiler!

Moments later in accordance to the population boom, I became judge jury and executioner.

Try to hit this spot a lot because they are building this area into a financial district and in a few years, this will be just some private pond bordering some small business building and will likely be unfishable. The fish here don't get big, 2.5-3lb is the biggest caught ever. But this is the site of the day I caught 50 bass in 45min. Found an entire school suspending and feeding from the shore and went to town.

I love ZMan lures. I usually like to fish soft plastics on a weighted hooks and their lures are so durable they slide right over weight without any damage. I caught this little guy last time summer on a ZMan jerk bait (this Snook put up an awesome fight btw).

Not mine. Solid 20 maybe 25 pounds.

But I landed this nice jack for an old timer Sunday morning on the jetty. Scraped the crap out of my legs doing it and reopened them doing deadlift today, but damn. I wasn't letting that go after he fought it for nearly an hour on an ultra light spinning setup that looked like he was aiming for specks.
    Come and take it.

So went and picked up the new 12' Equinox Angler Kayak I have been taking about.

Didn't have it for more than a half hour before I started making personal adjustments. I didn't like how the rod holders had the rods pointing so far out the side. With two 7' rods in the holders it was 7' from rod tip to rod tip. The left rod is at the factory position, the right is the one I rotated.

    With both adjusted

Can't wait to get out and hit the water in this thing!

Some of you fellas are nuts.
My dad loves fishing. So he would take me and my brother out a lot when we were younger. Everyone's a bit busy now and we don't go out of our way to make time for it either. It's more of a luxury these days.
Either way, I've never been half as good as most of you.

Enjoy coming into this thread and learning a thing or two. Great pictures too.
    Keep them coming.

Oh chit, Fort Myers brah checking in! It's been a while since I've been down there to fish but just play the tides and match the hatch is really all I can suggest. They are literally right off the beach though in shallow water. I think the Sanibel beaches usually hold quite a bit of the Snook. The only folks I know who have had Tarpon luck have been up fishing around Boca Grande pass (flats and the pass itself). Those canals in cape are pretty money for Jack, a buddy of mine also pulled some monster bass out of there on a texas rigged Culprit worms.

My lake got taken over by curlyleaf pondweed this summer. I guess that means for the time being I can forget about fishing and just stay inside and study for the bar exam.

Hit the beach about 2 weeks ago when bluefish were reported in the bay. All blues caught on a A17 diamond jig.

Won employee of the month and used the bonus to pick myself up a new toy for the boat. love it!! to bad ive hardly used my boat this year, been too busy with work and other commitments. Have only been out twice in fact.

The mofo also took me 5 hours to set up! Between getting the transducer cable under the boards and around the boat, finding out the power cable is 4ft long, and then learning how to bunny energy from my marine radio, two stops to the home good store, i was about ready to say screw this. But totally worth it. Went out wednesday for the first time with it, spent most of the time on the water just messing around with the settings and getting used to it. Should be me really good out on the great lakes.

Just picked up an Elite 7 for my dad's boat and after using it twice I am in love. I was regretting not getting and HDS 7, but after using the Elite all the regret was gone. Pumped to have a legit unit on the boat now.

Been a while since I've posted in here. Pike seasons finished here but it's been a good year, fished a load of new venues and broke my personal best two weeks running.
Haven't done much fishing since April bar the odd session trout fishing with light cranks on small streams and a couple of trips pike fishing in Scotland (colder climate).

    Typical trout stream.

Smaller one, had em to a couple of pound but it's a good pic!

    Scotland.

    25lb 8oz on a paternostered roach.

24lb 8oz on a lure from a river. Legit thought I'd hooked the bottom when it took.
