Praying I get accepted by this one internship for 10 weeks in seattle.
My friend did it last year and said he had a lot of time on weekends to go kayaking, go up to vancouver, etc.
I would:
Pacific ocean charter
Sturgeon fishing Oregon/Washington border
Fishing in canada?
Mt st helen
bruce lee monument
But main priority is the fishing though.Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?

Had the day off for the holiday, so I took to the local trout stream.
Bright and early in god's country farmland. Cold, crisp morning with nobody on the roads.
Second cast of the day
The SOB started flopping around and splashed water onto my camera, so now I have a drop of water on the INSIDE of my front lens element It's currently sitting in a bowl of rice trying to suck the moisture out.
Caught 6 more after these ones, not a bad day in all.

sup brahs, been talking about wanting to catch a musky for years now...finally got one in the boat yesterday! been months since i've wet a line so i was especially stoked about this one. caught him doing a figure 8 right at the boat. he followed the lure (8" jerkbait) for a good 8-10 full figure 8s then finally pounced on it. fun as hell to experience this and i can't wait to do it again!

Man, I haven't gone fishing in YEARS. Usually I go with my Dad. This thread makes me want to fishing again! And once I do, will contribute here.

did a little local tourney last weekend and won for biggest bass
$150
had the longest northern and someone beat it by 1/2" but weighed less, but it was all based on length.
Was a good day!
now off to the ice for another day of fun

Picked up a 8'6 xxh rod, some lures, and new bilge/livewell pumps for the boat. Excited to try the new rod once the ice breaks up, the extra two feet should help with figure eights.
Friday night. Date night in Miami. Every night is a date night in Miami, and everyone's having sex. But for me, sex never enters into it. I don't understand sex. Not that I have anything against women, and I certainly have an appropriate sensibility about men, but when it comes to the actual act of sex, it's always just seemed so undignified. But I have to play the game.

^ that's what the fukk im talking about monica.
dude I don't even really look like that now, I think that was like a year ago. ive been cutting so im starting getting lean (im like 11%bf atm) I lost mass from hunting and goofing around too much and not lifting.
caught 4 at the pond last night, nothing good. just 1lbers. theyre already post spawn in my favorite pond and cruising the banks. I was just throwing out in front of them and wait for them to pick it up

Love this thread! I've been casually fishing my whole life, but most of that was having my dad take care of everything, so I never really learned anything. I just really got into bass fishing last year and I do alot of fishing out of my canoe.. I typically use senkos with flouro line, but I have another pole that doesn't have a reel on it. I am considering getting a reel for it but I don't really know any good reels, and I'm thinking about have mono line on that one so that I can switch back and forth.
Any suggestions on reels and line? Also, any good websites you guys like to use where I can get some good beginner info? I do alot of fishing on rivers and some lakes.. But I never have any success on rivers.
I don't have a baitcaster, but would anyone recommend me picking one up? I've never had any experience with one.Last edited by JLouck; 03-12-2015 at 07:35 AM.

you dont have to have a baitcaster but i youre getting into bass fishing it will make your life easier. they can be a lot of work to figure out how to use but with practice you can make it work.
what do you want to use the other rod for? if you want to throw some topwaters ever then yeah i would recommend putting mono line on it.

Well, the other rod would mostly be for topwater, swimbaits, things where I don't need the line to sink. I'd like to learn how to jig, but it seems like I'd only be able to use the lighter jigs. Both my rods are 7' med-heavy action and they can't really handle the heavier jigs without excessive bowing, at that point I'm not sure if I'd be able to handle a bass with how heavy that jig is.

Only stayed out a couple hours, needed to check the boat out before our tournament Saturday. First one I got on video. Bought a couple more batteries to record as much as possible this year. Hopefully the videos get better.
5" green pumpkin / watermelon swim senko.
Just bought a boga grip to try out. Make it easier to deal with trebble hooks, catfish and any musky we might accidentally catch. Have pliers, but seems this would make it a lot easier. Lost 30 minutes of fishing in a tournament once because we hooked into two musky. Almost had to cut the net to free it.

At the start of march it was in the 40's
Jumped up to 60-70 for a week
My spring break starts and it's currently high's of 36 all week.
And this is why Illinois doesn't have big fish. (inb4 someone posts the 124lb catfish)
When I get off of school for summer or maybe come home one weekend to fish, I have no idea what the situation is gonna be.
It'll practically be late spring/summer but the temps will have jumped around like crazy all the way until the end of April. No idea what the bass and pike are going to be doing in terms of behavior.
It's a struggle every year.
2 years ago it was 80's all week 2nd week of March and then snowed 6" first week of April.
Any IL brahs share my pain? I still manage to catch both a nice quantity and high quality fish every year, but imagine the quality of fishing if our weather was more tolerable.Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?
