Purchased a hobie kayak tonight. Its an older one but still think it was probably a deal. My older kayak was never meant for fishing and I used it so much last year I had to fix holes in the bottom multiple times. Didn't really take it out much this year because of that. I had been keeping my eyes out for some boats but just was not able to jump the gun quick enough when I thought I found some deals and they would get sold. Stinks we are about to go into winter.

14 foot. I think its 2012 area. I saw it for $500 and didn't even try to negotiate. I had been thinking about pulling the plug on a bass pro ascend 12t ($650) or 128t ($850) but had been trying to find a use one. Everyone I saw used they were asking what they paid for it and wouldn't negotiate.

Hit a smaller lake near my in-laws cabin on Saturday. Never been on this lake but managed a few mid 3lb largemouth. Lost a 5+ at the boat. Was trying to land it by hand like some kind of pro instead of just netting it. Derp moment of the day. Biggest 5 weighted 15lbs and change.
The bigger ones are beginning to move shallower and are feeding up. All the fish I caught were fat and multiple had the tail of baitfish sticking out of their throats. The next month and a half will be oh so Hnnnng for MN bass fishing.Tolerance and apathy are the last virtues of a dying society. ~ Aristotle

Here's something interdasting... I was out fishing Saturday morning on a river when I look down on the bank and see what I thought was a spine or piece of vertebrae. I picked it up, and it was squishy. Turns out it was some kind of grub?
Google searches lead me to believe it's a Golaith Beetle larvae. Fkn gnarly!

Definitely not as easy to just pick it up and go like the old one. Took it out once and definitely would do better in a more open water space than I was out at. I got into some too shallow of water with a lot of down trees. Picked up some rod holders, anchor trolley system and a fish finder I'll be putting on. Worse comes to worse I'll let it go and keep an eye out for a boat. There is a two seater for sale here for something like $5500. Seems crazy.
What do you guys like to throw from some fall lmb?

Out at the river right now. So far have caught a gar, a good size channel cat, and a black cat that scratched the hell out of me. Someone must of dumped four black kittens while I was here because they are running around.

F150 supercrew and I just slide it in and have two soft ties on each side rail and strap it forward. Then if I take the second one for the gf I just put it on upside down on top of the hobie and strap it down the same way basically. I should of taken a picture have now down it twice after today.
Ended up taking it out today for its first time actually trying to fish a bit and test out the fish finder I installed. Got the first fish on it. Honestly not 100% sure how to read it though I've never had a fish finder. I put the transducer in the front middle so when I'm seeing marks on the down imaging/sonar I'm not sure in terms of where they are to where I'm at. Saw a bright return on the down imaging and figured it was a chunk of metal?? with how strong it was light up.

Went up to Wyoming to blast some speed goats, tagged out a little too quick so had a few days to fish in the mountains. Caught a lot of Rainbows up to 16.25 inches.
