I'd go with powerline. 10 year warranty, optional lat pulldown, $50 extra set of stands . Much better in the long run. I'm planning to buy the powerline within a month or so.

I think you still have to pull the sabers out. You twist them to lock them in, so no through pin is necessary, but I believe you still pull these sabers completely out.

Hmm valid points! Just looked at both things you mentioned and they seem like downfalls on the powerline. I like how the atlas one just twists and locks in place. The powerline pins look like they could be a pain everytime. Looks like the atlas also has more height settings.

Still the powerline has the optional lat for the future. Guess now I need to decide what to do.

you twist to lock them in, but you still have to pull them out all the way to adjust the height. They work exactly the same way except for how they lock in. they are not quick safeties.

I can vouch for the powerline rack, it was the first one I ever owned. It took a lot of abuse but never showed it.

it also shows a lot of confidence in their rack. add in that you can expand later to a lat tower and it's the one i'd go with.

Yes I can't wait to order mine. Probably another few weeks. Every time I put money aside for stuff something else happens. Maybe grab the lat addon some where down the road. I need to find a decent utility bench and set of weights to go with it now. Most of the benches on CL are full and would be dumb to put in a rack if it even fit.

You'll be ordering before me probably so let us know how you like it.

Nice!! Congrats man. You have a utility bench already?

I'm thinking of getting one from walmart. Just need to decide if I want to spend $50 on one or spend like $150 for one with a leg attachment and preacher pad. So many decisions

Any updates? I have been looking at these same two for about a week now and can not decide which one to order.

I'm currently doing SS and have been cleaning the weight to get the weight in place for squats, press, etc. I know a rack will make the workout safer and much more efficient. Any input would be greatly appreciated!

If you can spare just a little bit more, the Bodysolid GPR378 rack would be better than both of those options. You can get the current model as a refurb around $460 or (if they have any more in stock) a brand new older model for $400 shipped. I was in the same situation as you were a few months ago looking at the same 2 racks, then I found out about this deal and jumped on it. Couldn't be more happier. Just contact them (Matt) and ask if they have any of the older models in stock.

    Good Luck.

I was looking at these 2 racks when I was about to purchase my first cage. I heard great things about both and honestly they are very similar. I ultimately went with the PPR200X because they have a longer history and a lat attachment option(please correct me if the other cage has a lat attachment).

Play it safe and get the PPR200x. No beef against the other cage, I am sure that it is just fine as well.

Thanks for the reply and input!

Just out of curiosity what makes this a better rack? I noticed it looks a little beefier but if they both support above what I will be squatting, what is the advantage of the beefier looking model?

I have the PPR200x. I got it when it was a hundred bucks cheaper, but it has been a fine piece of equipment. I like it a great deal. It is both sturdy and minimalist at the same time. Get one.
