    I don't compete, or have any interest to, so not 100% sure on dieting before a show.
    I could imagine though if you get back on track straight away you won't have done any damage from just one night, apart from temporary water weight / bloat, but that should go within a week

    Depends on how much of a surplus you had - did you track your cheat? If you had a 2k cal binge over your daily goal, and you were planning on close to a 300 cal deficit, you just pretty much cancelled out a week of dieting. Just get back on track, there is nothing you can do about it now. Just don't make the mistake to cut cals even lower, that can send you into more binge cycles due to even more deprivation. Carb bloat/water weight will even out after a while.
