Things were going good, but today I had a major setback. Something with my shoulder went horribly wrong. I had to leave the gym and headed straight to the emergency room. I was there for over 4 hrs. Seems that the widening of my AC joint is causing some serious damage to other parts of my shoulder. I'm done messing around with specialists who aren't taking the proper steps to fix me the right way. At this rate I'm going to end up doing permanent damage.
I'm setting up an MRI first thing tomorrow. I've never been in this much pain in my life...I can't even move/use my arm.
That really sucks. Sorry.

I'm sorry to hear the news Kim...I hope you have been given effective pain relief in the meantime. If not, demand they give you something better atleast to help you sleep. That's just terrible!

My journal is quite boring these days LOL...No workouts, no progress pics or vids to report. I made this yesterday for the over35 and I wanted put it here too. It applies to everyone, so thank you all for your constant support!

You're all so sweet and thank you for the well wishes. Gosh, I never think to come to my journal, because I'm not training at the moment. My MRI results show 2 torn muscle bellies in the rear and front delt. In order to heal properly, to avoid possible ruptures and or surgery...no training at all for at least 3 months. I can't train legs, because most of the staple lifts involve the shoulders. Hitting the gym for a couple leg ext, leg lifts just isn't worth it to me...before you know it, you try to dabble in other things thinking you're feeling good and we all know where that goes.
The weather is getting warmer and I'm going to start heading outdoors to do some trail running. It'll be good to get out of the house, clear my head and the fresh air will do me some good.
I seem to be maintaining my weight, but I'm looking flat and I feel squishy...that's not an easy one for me to swallow...

Thanks for the update Kim. Remember that it's taken you YEARS to gain the muscle you have now - 3 months won't make it disappear (although I'm sure it feels like it!).
Well, I guess on a positive note it sounds like the surgery isn't going to be needed? I know at one point you said that might be in the picture. Sucks to not be able to train, but if you can avoid surgery and get better with rest/rehab that's probably a "win" in the long run. You've got such an awesome physique and will come back really fast I have to think.
Hang in there, Kim! I can totally sympathize with the effects of not training. I've been doing legs/abs/cardio for a little bit and the other day goofed around with some other exercises on machines that I knew wouldn't touch the bicep. But that whole use-it-or-lose-it thing bites. Good luck!!!!!!
What . . . you've never heard of a 30-year bulking phase before??

Oh Kimm I'm so sorry. I know how it is though. We all have a hard time holding back even when we know we need to. Spending some time outdoors sounds like a great idea. Perhaps this could free up some time to pursue other hobbies or interests? I agree with everyone else... you've invested much time in gaining quality muscle and it'll all come back when you are released to train heavy again. ((((hugs))))
28lbs gained in the bulk... let the cutting commence for the July show!

Catching up in here, oh no I am so sorry to hear about the injury!!! Ugh 3mths at least, I hope you can avoid surgery at least. Good idea to get out and enjoy the summer with some trail running, whole situation sucks but it'd be a real kick in the face if this was like January, stuck indoors for months. Stay positive Kimm, I hope you remain active on the forums, you have always been such a great help to everyone here with your wisdom and lulz SRS. Wishing you a speedy recovery, you'll be back before you know it! ::Giant hammie hug, oops sorry didn't mean to get glaze on you, that comes out with the tide stain stick, promise::

Hey you mentioned a shoulder injury in my post so I had to drop by to wish you all the best in recovery.
Oh and I have to ask if the weights are in lbs or kgs
Just wanted to let you know I was thinking about your road to recovery.
Look on the bright side. And there is always a bright side. While you are temporarily out of commission, you can spend more time doing another aspect of your awesomeness that you do well - and that is helping others out.
