Cant say im guilty of taking things for granted OP -- Every day when I wake up i give thanks for everything I was given and realize how many people out there are TRULY struggling. It gives me a big slice of humble pie and puts my life and small struggles into perspective

I used to go to school with a few Africans who were foreign, they were some of the most humble, nice and friendly people I have ever met. OP I wish well for your family and your new friend Max.

First update: Woke up and found out he went to pick up his older brother (from the pictures) from baseball practice and to watch him a little bit.

It's pretty warm here in Indiana, but he isn't used to even the slightest bit of cold or breeze, so he put on gloves, hat, and coat haha!

it does truly amaze me.. roomate is a perfect example:
-2 days before an expiration date on food = OMG its bad, throw it out
-brb, buying a 180$ parking pass, to park in parking deck right across the street (by the time he finds a spot i have already beaten him to class)
-drives drunk in his infiniti g35, brags about it, and has dents/scratches on it from drunk incidents
-live of mom and dads money
-doesnt know the meaning of hard work
-sleeps till 2pm everyday,

Well, my mom couldn't physically adopt one so she adopted one and sends tons of stuff down there. And although I agree, it's his first real pair, I think it's nice if they get one nice pair. Something to enjoy. I don't think he understands they are Jordans and the material value

He doesn't understand much English so when his new dad jokes and says "you gonna clean the house?" he will shake his head yes. It's cute really.

He said hi to everyone that came over and even picked up my other cousin's little baby. He is somewhat shy, sticks to his mom (my cousin) really close with everything being new. But he looked like he was in heaven having an ACTUAL bed to sleep on

No offense taken, and I'm not sure, he doesn't look like that in person.

Saw him today, he went out to eat with us. Doesn't even really try certain foods. His dad brought him cheesecake and he kind of just touched it with his tongue, didn't really taste it haha.

Loves his Hi-C pop drink. Also in Haiti they are used to taking showers such as turning water on, turning off, soaping up, turning back on, rinse and repeat. To conserve water. So his first real shower last night he did that. Kid is still so lost, but he'll get the hang out of it
