I actually got treated with hookworms for allergies and hay fever in 2008 with 30 hookworms. I was totally symptom free for the duration I had the worms, but the symptoms came back when the hookworms died, after about 3 years.
I have been kind of second guessing my original decision to use hookworms to treat allergies. If any of you people know about immunology. An allergy is an disruption and overreaction of the Th2 immune response, while autoimmune disease is a overreaction of the Th1 immune response. Both of these immune responses exist in balance in a person with a healthy immune system.
I think the goal in treating allergies should be promoting and increasing the Th1 immune response, which will down regulate the allergy causing Th2 immune response.

Oh by the way...Size f*cking matters, in everything. Don't believe the hype. Size f*cking matters. Size DOESN'T matter to people who don't have any size, that's why they're like "oh size doesn't matter". SIZE, GIRTH, THICKNESS, EVERYTHING. This is not always an option, as the inflammation can reappear in another part of the digestive tract.
Besides, hookworms have been tested for millions of years, unlike some of the dangerous, expensive and side-effect filled pharmaceutical drugs.
The only side-effects I had with hookworms is a rash at the site of inoculation and some stomach pain after eating, both which lasted only for a few weeks.Strength without endurance, is as useless as, endurance without strength

Not nearly enough research for me to try something like that. My school is actually doing major research on BVD (Bovine Viral Diarrhea) and have found that its strikingly similar to crohn's disease.

That is not a hookworm.
Hookworm larve( which can't be seen with the naked eye), penetrate through your skin and enter the blood stream. Once this happens, they enter the lungs. The larve mature in the lungs and once ready, they climb the trachea and reach the throat, where they are swallowed and enter the stomach. The hookworms attach to themselves to the small intestine and feed on small quantities of blood and release substances into the body which modulate the immune system. They live in the small intestine, they mate and they release eggs(Hookworms can't increase in numbers in your body). They die after about 3-5 years.Strength without endurance, is as useless as, endurance without strength

I have read that some people become allergic to sesame or nuts, through vaccines. Some vaccines contain oils, like those from peanuts. The problem arises when this peanut oil can contain traces of intact peanut proteins. Now, if you inject a whole, intact protein directly into your blood with an adjuvant(these stimulate the immune system to react to substances), your immune system basically becomes sensitized to peanut proteins. This is the same way they make mice in lab experiments allergic to peanuts.
The problem is, these vaccines can never be proven as the cause of peanut allergies as the pharmaceutical companies state that the oil used, contain no intact proteins. But contamination does occur and one vial of vaccine can contain intact proteins, while another does not.Strength without endurance, is as useless as, endurance without strength
