Let me start this off by saying that I have always been skeptical about Protein bars. Either they tasted like crap, had the nutritional profile of a candy bar, or were simply overpriced. However, there has been a lot of hype of late on the boards here regarding Quest Nutritions' Natural line of protein bars, and once my wife read up on the Quest line I knew it was time to try out.
A big thanks in advance to AFDave and Unclewade for providing samples.
The two sample bars that my wife and I received were the Chocolate Brownie (99.95% Natural Line) and Cinnamon Roll (100% Natural Line). The main difference between the two lines appears to be the use of Sucralose (Artificial sweetener) in the 99.95% line versus Stevia used in the 100% Natural Line.
I let my wife try the Chocolate Brownie first, and the first words out of her mouth were "Wow, this is awesome!". We then popped the bar in the microwave for 10 seconds, and it somehow managed to taste even better. Same goes for the Cinnamon Roll, taste great right out of the wrapper, but putting it in the microwave takes it to the next level, where you feel like you are eating a dessert. Since we knew we had a winner on our hands we were ready to order more, so to start we picked up two sample boxes with 12 bars each. In a little more then a week both boxes were empty!
As far as taste, the following ranked towards the top:
- Chocolate Brownie
- Chocolate Peanut Butter
- Coconut Cashew
- Cinnamon Roll
Some thoughts:
- My wife is on a huge anti artificial sweetener kick (i.e. Sucralose, Splenda, etc...), so it has been difficult for her to find a truly all natural line. Quest nailed it with the 100% Natural Line, and my wife already asked me what other products does Question Nutrition produce (hint hint, time to expand the line, protein powders, all natural foods, etc.... you already have future customers waiting!!!)
- For me one of the biggest challenges is getting enough fiber in my diet. Just having one Quest bar a day has made it much easier to hit my daily fiber needs without giving it much thought.
So would I recommend Quest Bars? Well, let's just say I had 4 more boxes of Quest Bars arrive two days ago

Awesome thoughts and feedback in this review right here!
Glad you enjoyed the bars so much - it's great to see that your samples got you on the band wagon.
Also, in a recent video interview, Quest said, "We're a food company, not a supplement company."
What does that mean?
You should probably expect some more delicious goodies to hit the streets in the years to come.
Let us know if we can do anything else for you in the meantime - thanks for your business and support! We genuinely appreciate it.NOV || Ohio Chapter || Be more, have less.

Nice, review D. I'm glad your wife likes Quest bars. My wife still prefers 90 calorie granola bars to a Quest bar because they have fewer calories. I try to convince her otherwise, but so far no luck.
Anyway, like you said, microwaving them can be great. CPB microwaved for like 15 seconds is a heavenly dessert. Coconut Cashew and CR are so good that I can't wait to microwave them...I have to eat them right out of the wrapper.
Speaking of, I think it's time to reorder....

Thanks guys. I remember a while back when I was taking the train in to NYC for work I used to grab I think the MuscleTech protein bars for convenience. Most tasted like a$s, were overpriced, and were really just nothing more then sugar. I was definitely a skeptical hippo with Quest Bars, but in the past few weeks I can't imagine going a day without one. My wife is doing the 12 week Jamie Eason workout (I guess her version of me doing PHAT!), so the Quest Bars fit in perfectly in our house.
@ BenW22 - it may be time for mine and Dave's wife to pay yours a visit to knock some sense into herKenshin and Dbone's Nursing Home Adventures (ongoing) ... http://tinyurl.com/ns23wak

I agree! Dave and I searched for a long time to find a bar that was lower calorie and had a good bit of protein and fiber in the bar. Both of those help you feel fuller longer. It's very easy to fit into my calories per day. I have to be selective. Thankfully Dave is great at researching great products and he has been a huge help to enable me to lose the almost 100 pounds. These base taste great and are easy to take anywhere and eat well! It makes it easy for me to get my protein and fiber needs while still maintaining my calories! These bars are the best!
Make your wife try them. They have more high quality ingredients and will help her to meet nutritional needs easily. These bars will help her to feel more full also!Sarah- NASM CPT

The Vitamin Shoppe by where I work just got a box of the Cinnamon Roll Quest Bars from the all natural line.
Gotta admit, I was extremely skeptical at first as well for the same reasons as DBone: most bars I've had tasted terrible or were just glorified Snickers bars.
That being said, these are DAMN GOOD. Grabbed 2 as a taste test, had one for lunch right out of the wrapper...can't wait til later on when it's time to feed again so I can pop that byotch in the nukrowave.
Job well done Quest folk, job well done.

I love seeing you and Dave support Quest........makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
I recently started sharing with my girlfriend - boy, all my bars have been disappearing.
I definitely appreciate the point you bring up about feeling fuller, longer - I wake up and start almost every day with a Quest bar to keep the edge off my hunger while I shower in the dorms until I can hit real breakfast. They're a very convenient and useful dietary tool.NOV || Ohio Chapter || Be more, have less.

At the arnold I tried the strawberry cheesecake which was NOMS I wish I would have waited until I got home to microwave it. I also had the PB&J which really lacked the jelly but was still pretty good. The fudge brownie was ok right out of the wrapper, I could imagine it being awesome microwaved. I really need to try the cinnamon roll and the apple pie. Might be ordering a box or two later this week.
Good review
edit: Also, my dad loves these.. don't think 2 boxes would even last a week here!Lupus Fiasco
