I have no idea what kind of gloves they use... As for their training, some of them respond very well to bodyweight training (I've seen people who get quite big from push-ups and pull-ups only), while others actually go to the gym and train (even though they may not state that in videos). Bodyweight training works well for some, but it's never the most efficient way to build muscle.

Can't agree it's "never the most efficient way to build muscle". Body-weight exercise is what man had available to him far before gyms and machines... Calisthenics just like Weight-training can be as demanding and result producing as you make it.
Not building enough muscle, make adjustments to increase the difficulty. Increase reps, add jumping, clapping, or other explosive movements.
