Do the clothes/shoes you wear make such a big difference?
Im contemplating whether or not investing in my wardrobe would increase my success with women. Is it really that big of a deal? And if so, what clothes do you guys get the most attention in. I usually just wear a graphic tee, blue jeans and some black shoes. I still get looks and attention but still not as many as the guys who wear polo and holister. Does your style really make the difference?

didn't read, but yes it matters.
sucks to say it but it absolutely matters always.
increases your confidence, and how you look. both things matter for first impressions. you don't have to spend a lot, just try to look nice.

yes it definitely does. The amount of looks i get when I wear a nice rl polo and dark jeans go way up than when im slumming it. Ditch graphic tees, get some solid color slightly v necked tees (light blue is a lady killer), chino shorts, nice slim fit jeans (dark and a light color) fold up the bottoms, get some nice casual sneakers (lots of girls dont like white ones, but if you pull it off go for it) Dont get hollister or AE anything. Go to RL and buy some rl shirts and polos. Make sure youre clothes fit right and show off your body type
even if youre ugly and dress nice, at least youre appealing in some way

Yes it matters. MOST IMPORTANTLY: FITMENT. Make sure you're jean are the right size...spend an extra 10 bucks and get them tailored...same thing with dress shirts. Its worth it.

There is a theory that it matches the color of your belt but, who says we follow theories or match what rules or expectation is out there. Yeah, that is right. I j walk too. I am a real bad ass.

Not really.
Just lift and wear clean clothes that fit well.

You guys are probably right. The dudes who wear Raplh Lauren Polo and Lacoste at my school have swarms of girls. No matter what they look like. I kinda think that buy wearing fancier/expensive brands I'd be attracting more shallow women. However I think it may boost my confidence. I have one polo and it's my favorite shirt. It cost me 35 bucks at Marshall's so ill probably be able to get one or two more. What kind of shoes do you guys wear?

Cost isnt anything, nobody including women care if your wearing Ralph Lauren...it could be a fking ghetto shirt from walmart, if it fits and looks as good as the Ralph Lauren who cares...they arent gonna be looking at the tag lol..

I always thought that women loved brand names and therefore the dudes who rock them.

You can buy that **** but, its a form of social status, showing off what you got which is not always a bad thing. I like to wear nice clothes but, I am no poster boy for anything or label. If you are attractive you look good in anything from H&M or lacoste. Makes no difference brah!

Yes it matters, womens first impression is all about appearance.
Your confidence, attitude, clothes. They really go for the first impression. If u look like an insecure, poorly dressed guy for example, most women will be turned off in the first 2 seconds they look at you. They don't even want to get to know you, they have seen enough already.

marshall and tj maxx are great for RL shirts and polos for cheap. As long as the polo fits right (somewhat snug in the chest) and a nice color (salmon and light blue look great with dark jeans) it doesnt matter if its from walmart or RL.
I wear white Nike Braata's. They look really good with jeans and shorts as long as you have low ass socks that dont show. It depends on your style but any low cut shoes are good. Nothing with too much color on them, large logos, just keep them simple.

I see you're about the same age as me man. It depends where you're going. I have my polos and such for occasions. But when just going out trying to looking fresh/casual I'll just throw on some fresh gear I get from champs, and some nice Flights or AirMaxes, with hightop black nike socks.

Really good advice in this thread. Will put this to use. I'll get a few polos, some chucks and maybe a watch.

Brand doesn't matter one iota in my opinion. Personal experience says that overall appearance > individual brand recognition.
Today for example, I wore slate grey jeans (boot cut), a black v-neck cardigan, with a brown leather belt, brown oxfords and my brown Rotary watch. Had a stubble beard going on, hair waxed like a boss, and wore my JC glasses.
Got eyefukked multiple times on the walk to work (which is about two miles, thirty minutes walk or so).
I know for a fact that if I had some chitty hoody on, loose, baggy ass jeans and sneakers on, people would have thought I was probably homeless and/or a student.
Just match belt, shoes and watch (to a lesser degree the watch) along with quality fitting trousers and shirt/jumper. The rest is just experimentation.
I rep back every time.

Sounds good bro. Gonna also try to whole carnigan style with boots. I like the classy look.
Overall I guess dress code really does matter. I have a bad feeling in the pit of me wallet.

One thing: it's all fit.
someone who knows what fits well and looks good will ALWAYS look better in wal mart clothes than someone who isn't good at finding the right sizes but wears expensive brands.

You really shouldn't worry brah. I started to transition from the graphic tee casual look to a more preppy/classy look a while back, if you shop sales it's really not that bad.

I'll be sure to remember this when I'm out shopping. You're right cause I bought a couple of v necks from American eagle in size medium. Come to find out the base of the shirts were extra wide as if I was overweight. I don't look normal in those shirts at all. No I go to the fitting room before purchase. Good advice.

Simple fitment for shirts is just paying attention to where the body of the shirt transitions to sleeves. The shirt should be small enough so that your shoulders pushes all the way out to where the sleeves begin. If that transition point is down past your deltoids or worse ...around your biceps, than the shirt or jacket is too big.

Form follows function
You'll find that as you age wearing polo and Hollister will become tacky. A good fit is paramount. If it looks good then people will assume it is expensive. Some of my nicest shirts are only 4$ but they fit perfectly.
