Due to this i'm going to have to only tip driver 75 cents unless I can find a buck laying around. Feelsbatman.jpg
Inb4 10 page thread, telling me i'm a horrible person for only tipping 75 cents after a 2.50 delivery charge.

The delivery fee is there to pay for the gas that driver himself had to pay for. It should theoretically allow the driver to break even, though when I was a delivery driver back in college, it usually didn't even cover it. The tip is for the driver doing his job so he doesn't make under minimum wage because his salary comes from tips, and even then the pay pales in comparison to a waiter.
Cliffs: OP is a raging *******, and I hope the driver rubs his sweaty ballsack all over the pizza before you eat it, you miserable fuk.

Its typical american tipping bull****. The company wants you, the customer, to pay their employees so they don't have to (which in turn nets them more profit). This business model doesn't exist in most of the world. My only question is where that "delivery charge" goes to. I would bet that it is not given to the driver.
Edit : just saw that the charge goes to the driver. That is good, but it still doesn't change the bullsht business model where the customer has to pay for the product and the employees wage.

So are you saying the 2.50 goes to the driver? If so, why wouldn't the 2.50 be "part" of his tip. If not, it's just a BS move on the company part as the driver is using his own car and money for gas so it's not costing the company anything and they are just pocketing the 2.50

How about just getting in the car and going to lil ceasars and getting a pizza and crazy bread all for under $10 bucks plus you'll have the $2.50 left over. Problem solved and you profit.
Don't worry how others look focus on you and your goal. Workout for you and no one else.

The other day I ordered pizza, and since I payed for it my gf was going to give a couple bux for the tip.. only apparently she didn't have any, and I paid online and had no cash. Anyway, I just asked the guy if he wanted a couple slices, and he said yea, and that was that.

Jets pizza does the same thing. I asked the guy when I was getting a delivery about the 2.50 "delivery charge" and he said he doesn't even get any of that, the pizzeria is just charging 2.50 extra because you get it delivered and they are taking it all for their own profit. He said if I don't tip him he doesn't get anything.

Because the driver has payed for gas, so the delivery fee is just there so he can break even. If you consider that to be the tip, then driver's netting like 5 bucks an hour. Think of the delivery driver as a waiter...except he can only serve one customer at a time and has to spend his own money to do it. It's a pretty shytty gig.
