Very nice... it looks great. Was it already cleaned up or did you have to do that yourself? (cosmoline removal)
You shooting Herters or Silver Bear? What kind of groups were you getting with it?
Also, what cal. is that Hi Point carbine?

The gun was previously owned so the former owner cleaned all the cosmoline off and sited it in perfect. I was shooting herters which shot very accurate. I'll end up getting some surplus ammo soon as well since its cheap. Just have to make sure to clean the gun right after since they are corrosive. The Hi-point Carbine is the 9mm version and ever since I've bought it I've never had problems. Shoots very accurate and never jams. I have clost to 1000 rds through it with no problems at all.

Excuse me aimsurplus not impact. I will probably once my return with skd clears up. Ordering guns offline is a headache. And preferred sites?

I got my Mosin from impactguns but they're selling them for $135 (excellent condition). Jgsales has them for $89... $99 for laminated stock version. Classicarms also has them for $89... I've had good experiences buying from all 3 websites.

Sounds like a good deal. I just never looked at the 91/30's because they are quite long and wanted a shorter model. The russian 91/30's have a funny nickname as the "wooden oar" since they are soo long you could use one as such.
1 funny mosin nagant fact. They have metal butt plates on the rear of the mosin so that they could smash frozen potatoes during the war without worrying about the wood stock splitting.

looks way better than my Russian one too, grain in the stock looks really nice.
watch that surplus stuff, it mucks up my gun pretty bad, last time I shot it the I couldn't cycle the bolt. I was out in a corn field had had to use a rock to get it to release, haha

Sounds like a pitted barrel more than the ammo.
