except if it's a "world record attempt"?
Back arching to make ROM shorter in benching for example... how is that any different than the non-powerlifter you rip on in the gym for not doing a lift in the perfect way it should be done?

Why do you get pissed when you see people doing half squats?

A) I don't.
B) Why are you comparing a bench arch to half squatting? One is a legitimate lift and the other is not.

Nobody cares what someone else does in the gym.
It only matters when they claim to actually pass it off as a "squat" or compare it to someone else's full squat.Training Log: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=142268221&welcome=true

Stupid thread is stupid. I get pissed when someone is half squatting, because my gym only has one squat rack.

unless you're an 80 lb. fashion model, your butt is always going to cause you to have a natural arch when you're laying down. so as long as your butt stays on the bench during a lift, you can trick out your back arch all you want. the degree to which someone's back is arched is not something you can enforce.
write 1 more stupid thread and i will report you to the mods for trollingElite Raw Powerlifter

You aren't that naive. A natural "arch" is very different than the enormous arches many lighter weight powerlifters purposely do to decrease the ROM, i.e make the lift more half-a*sed, which is what you claim to loathe about half-squatting gym goers.
What I don't understand is why is that acceptable but it's not acceptable to cut short the ROM of the squat by not going as deep? Many feds do that anyway and claim world records, and they don't get nearly as much flack as "gym idiots" who squat less than full ROM. Just because the weight is far heavier doesn't mean the concept is exactly the same.
