yea, when it starts getting warmer, there are a lot of wimmenz walking around in next to nothing. Also have a view into the Tempe mission palms resort pool, which happened to have an "adult video" expo there a few weeks ago. made sure to bring in the binoculars for that... lmao such a skeeve....

glasses, i JUST got a new perscription and i swear its like life in HD. its amazing what a difference it made. never going 5 years between updates again.

after reading your posts on that opportunity i would JUMP on it. especially if the GF is OK with it. Little backstory on myself.

I worked in a super regional Bank in the engineering group, responsible for coding UNIX for bank transactions across ATM machines in Michigan. I made a pittance for a salary. Took a vacation to scottsdale to meet up with some college friends. She was a technical recruiter and got me an interview "for fun" at a software education company. I went into the interview in shorts/flipflops/ballcap and didnt take it seriously at all.... they offered me a job on the spot.... long story short, my wife (GF at the time) and i made the decision to pack up our lives in Michigan, and move to Scottsdale 2 weeks later. She didnt have a job and we were paying $1700/mo for a 900sq/ft apartment. BARELY scraping by.. Within 2 weeks she got a job in accounting and we were settled down in the phoenix area. It was the single best move we could have made, no regrets what so ever.

We were able to do it because we were young, early in our careers, no major responsibilities in Michigan, no kids, etc... Since then we've both changed jobs, shes making more than 5x what she made when we first moved here, and im making orders of magnitude more than i did when we first moved. We bought a house, had a kid, and have settled in the valley. Sure we miss family, but they visit frequently and my sister and brother in law recently moved here from michigan too.

my point is, don't ever be afraid to take risks. The WORST thing you can do is become complacent, and then always wonder "what if i had taken that leap." and itll eat away at you.

In 25+ years that I have been working I have had a total of 4 jobs. I always was the responsible one, no matter how miserable I was at work. Finally 2 years ago I said the hell with safe, I am going to take some risk and do what is best for me, no looking back and no regrets. Now I am truly happy and have a great job that I love.

In 25+ years that I have been working I have had a total of 4 jobs. I always was the responsible one, no matter how miserable I was at work. Pretty much there right now. I go on every morning to governmentjobs.com to see if any cities around are hiring. I applied for a position as a police academy trainee at a nearby city for total ****s and giggles. They e-mailed me back about taking the written/physical tests. I'd be making twice as much as I make now just to go to academy. Since I live around the beach cities, not a whole lot of dangerous crime. Figure I put in a couple years there and transfer to a closer city. Many of them work 3/12's too, which has been a personal dream. The pay and benefits are pretty nice, plus I'd get a bonus for having a degree. Hoping it's a fit for me.

I work 4/10s right now and really like the extra day off. I'm spoiled; only having 2 days off a week sounds like torture.

I think every boy dreams about being a cop when he grows up. Pretty damn cool if you can pursue that as a career!

I always wanted to work for the Port of SD so I can be a beach cop or an airport cop. They're the highest paying local enforcement agency. Protrolling the beaches and airport looks a lot of fun to me. But I think my shot of getting in are less now due to age limit.

Yeah, I love my schedule. Having 3 day weekends makes up for a lack of a raise in two years, I guess. I've wanted a job in the public sector for the great benefits and automatic raises, and being a cop around here just seems like a pretty sweet gig, especially if I could work a 3/12. Wonder what kind of schedules I'll get as a rookie though...I see a lot of 10hr graveyard shifts ahead.

Negative. I would still have to reapply. The only positive thing is that I can add the "law experiences" to my resume that is about it. lol

Yep, if you request your name to be changed everything goes back to 0. I am trying to figure out what to do with mine, because for some reason no matter what they try my name stays bolded. So my only option is to create another account. Not sure if I want to do that or not, and if so I am having a hard time coming up with a new user name.

Yep it's some kind of glitch. When Lunatic stepped down and his unbolded once they took away his mod status. For some reason no matter what they are doing it's staying bold.
