    Dumbbell on Leg Press

    For those who use seated leg press;have you ever taken A dummbell and threw it ontop of the rack for more weight?Is it an successful strategy?I plan on applying it but want some feedback to those who have before leg day comes again

    Yes and yes; weight is weight.

    Just make sure it's in a secure position before you unlatch the sled, OP.

    Saw some dude rack up all the plates he could then he stacked like 8 more on top of it balancing them, then his friend stood on top of all that. Was a pretty big dude...

    If it's the leg press using a weight stack, you ned to be careful not to overload it too much. The cable can snap, which could injure you, and put the equipment out of use.

    If you find the full weight stack to be too easy, firstly ensure you are using good form. It's amazing how many people who use the leg press use the full stack, but use awful form. Better form at a lower weight is better!

    If you are using good form, you could utilise another method, such as drop sets, high volume\low rest reps, etc. Failing that, find an alernative exercise: front squats for quads, Romanian deadlifts for hamstrings.
