So I got choked by a bouncer when leaving the bar tonight. The story is as follows. Was at the bar with a few friends, they purchased a bottle of wine, but didn't end up drinking it, so it was left unopened. My friends went to get some food and I was left there with a girl. You're not suppose to have alcohol on the street so she put the bottle of wine into her handbag. I guess some of the bouncers saw her put it in her handbag because on the way out this bouncer just starts choking me without saying a word. Before I know it im purple in the face and theres 5 other bouncers surrounding me and the girl. He said something along the lines of wtf are you doing stealing from my bar. I told him we paid for it, he asked how much it was and claimed they didn't give out un-opened bottles of wine. Obviously we didn't know how much it was seeing one of our friends who had already left paid for it. We just gave back the bottle because honestly it wasnt worth getting beaten up for as they didn't believe us. Seriously was it legal that the guy just started fkn choking me tho? I mean we didn't actually do anything wrong, and we werent even stealing.
Cliffs:
-Friends pay for bottle of wine and leave the bar, with only me and a girl remaining
-Girl puts bottle of wine in her handbag because you're not suppose to have alcohol on the streets
-On the way out I get choked by a bouncer and threatened to be bashed by 5 because they thought we were stealing it
-Gave back the bottle because I didn't want to end up in hospital
Misc lawyers gtfih, was it legal what he did? Even if I was stealing, which we WERENT, can you just start choking someone?

Bouncers gon' bounce.
Before calling cops I would call the bar, ask to speak to a manager or something and explain what happened. Be polite(ish) but stern, and irked-sounding. Try to find out which emplyee sold you the bottle and have them vouch for you. Which youi shouuld have done in the first place... .wtf?Savage 'bout my cabbage.

The big secret about bouncers - They're really not allowed to do much of anything other than escort people. Restraint is one thing if somebody poses a violent threat, but even that is a slippery slope. Depending on the place you were at, they may keep their bouncers off the books to keep from getting sued. Long story short....very illegal.

Even if they thought you were stealing I don't think choking you should be the first thing to do, they should've stopped you and use force only if you resisted. So clearly this is BS and I'd file a police report. Depends on where u live too, if its some 3rd world ****hole then maybe just forget about it cuz nothing will happen and you just made an enemy out of those bouncer****s.
Thats life brah, feel better, I was choked out by a bouncer**** once also. **** happens, there are *******s in this world unfortunately.

OP if you want to go after this *******, which you should, then I would phone the police now and make a statement about being assaulted#
Get the receipt for the wine. If you don't have it, then the establishment should have a merchant copy of the reciept.
Get in contact with the manager asking the names of the people who served you, and the name of the bouncer who choked you. If it was outside then there should be CCTV footage since most places have a camera outside their door to see who goes in and out.
Seriously OP I want you to fukking nail this guy and be completely forward about it, be assertive. Bouncers get away with fukking murder, I don't want this fukking ******* walking around feeling entitled to CHOKING whoever he wants, while being paid for it.
DO it OP.
