There is one huge bulky guy that goes to the gym. This fella looks like he could dead lift and squat 1,000lb. easily. Yet, he meanders around the power rack using up to 20 ten pound plates on the barbell doing squats, dead lifts, and shoulder presses with the same weight. After he completes a set he yells, "YEAH"! Fat idiot.

Since I have a broken ankle, I have a helluva time, placing weights on the HS machines.
I was doing a 2 station superset, push pull, (machines side by side) and some dipstick, takes one plate off one side of the machine, insted of walking 4 steps to get one that was being unused/racked.
Last workout, I was using the Life fit machines. same thing. Some guy jumps in, changes the weight, does some stupid 5 rep set, and walks away.
If I want to jump in on a machine, 1st I always ask, if I can rotate in, 2nd I note where the weights are at, and if I have to change them, I always put them back, exactly where the 1st guy had them, just as a courtesy, for him letting me jump in.
I try not to be annoyed, because I want to be more positive. Next time, I'm gonna hop over on 1 leg, and drop a plate on his toeI'm going to take the Sc0liosis curve out of my back and eliminate my nerve pain

People that shower & refuse to dry off before walking back to their locker - resulting in monumental puddles in the middle of the locker room floor.
As I work in a gym, people that throw their weights around & don't put them back drive me insane!NICK CHEADLE FITNESS

I hate cleaning up after those people.. Sometimes I want to give them the benefit of the doubt and think they just don't know gym etiquette. I'll try to help these people sometimes just to find out that they were just too lazy to break down the weights.. But every now and then there is that one person that just didn't know...

I saw him for the first time ever....the dude people laugh about...."Mr. Peacock". I normally go to a privately owned fitness center about 8 miles away, but the local chain gym offers workout equipment that the private place does not (and visa versa)....so, I was entering the local gym to find this dude puffing out his chest in the mirror by the smith machines, looking all proud....until I shot him a look that followed him all the way from the door to the locker room that said, "dude....you are ridiculous. You are not all that". He stopped immediately, LOL! Silly me. I thought those mirrors were for watching your form, not for checking yourself out. Sheesh....do it at home....no one is impressed! ;D And this is what makes me laugh about Planet Fitness' statement that says they do not like those kinds of people in their gyms (they set off a "Lunk Alarm" for grunting and dropping weights....and probably for even putting some effort in being fit). They say that the unfit are intimidated by them....no, they should not be intimidated by peacocks....they should be amused like me and go about their business. Actually, fitness cardio bunny snobs seem a bit more intimidating than the peacocks (well, no, not to me anyway....but to others who are that self-conscious). SMH

I was at the gym a couple of years back and one of my wife's friends was checking the place out, thinking about joining. We were off on the side talking and along comes one of those people who wear those rubber pants and jackets to "sweat" the weight off. From about 15 feet away, this person pulls up the bottom of the jacket and a cascade of sweat pours out on the floor... a WTF moment. My wife's friend, bids me a good bye, turns and walks out, she joined another gym.

Ok I am In a gym in Ecuador and there are a few things, first the local younger guys that keep checking their hairstyle in the mirror, kinda feminine for so called macho latin guys. They also workout in jeans, yeah mostly doing bench and bis.
But worse is this guy from the US in his mid 20s that unfortunately seems to be there when I work out. First of all he has this mop mushroom haircut that's annoying in itself. This penis head dude thinks he is a kick boxer and waits until the gym is full and hits and kicks the heavy bag as hard as he can between lifting weights right next to an aerobics class, or does a hilariously type of boxers warm up shuffle in the mirror after doing some weird dumbbell movement with poor form, like bent over shoulder raises moving his arms in a chicken wing type of flutter. The dude is real skinny but rolls up his t-shirt sleeves and keeps checking out his arms and generally keeps getting in the way of everyone. And the last time I went the penis head decides to take off his shirt while doing dumbbells and flexing in the mirror and trying to show off in front of everyone with amateurish boxing moves on the bag between sets.
Taking the shirt off while working out in a mixed gym is considered disrespectful here and his whole attitude really doesn't do much for other foreigners here either. As an ex boxer myself his moves on the heavy bag fail to impress and really wanna make me knock this knob head out

This is what really annoys me the most in the gym. It's the guys that call themselves "personal trainers" and they aren't certified. There are few guys that won or placed in local, regional, and state competitions sure, but that allow them to train someone in the gym. Cutting a deal with the manager just isn't right.
One guy who's a former IFBB Mr. World, another that placed in state competition, and two that placed in the local competition about 8 miles from the gym. One does word puzzles while training his clients. Another PT does more talking and lecturing about the fine points of exercise than getting his clients to exercise. Another PT nods off and loves texting while training clients. And last but not least are the pot-belly and barrel-belly personal trainers. These dumb fyucks have their clients doing some of the weirdest and worst exercises that I ever seen done in a gym! These PT's are the ex-cops and guys that played college football years ago. They look disgusting! Especially the one obese ex-cop PT! I don't how he convinces these people to let him become their personal trainer is totally beyond me. I've been tempted many times to ask the PT's, "What the fycuk do you think you are doing"?Last edited by Taichichuan; 05-30-2012 at 07:51 PM.

Indeed
And this is what makes me laugh about Planet Fitness' statement that says they do not like those kinds of people in their gyms (they set off a "Lunk Alarm" for grunting and dropping weights..
Dropping weights, clanging weights, grunting, shouting out expletives, BS loud talking, yelling, screaming, and socializing is allowed in the gym, but chalk isn't allowed!

Ditto....who cares about 1/4 rep form, so what if someone brags about a recent leg press. To me, i just laugh....honestly i dont mind if someone carries on a convo with me after a set, im not a pro so taking the time out to talk is not an issue. And lastly....i just dont understand the rationale behind curling in the squat rack...if it is not being used...curl away. Noone has ever stopped me or asked to work in. ****, i pay taxes in this world and will curl where i feel. Sometimes people do not know that a particular behavior is offensive to another individual. Tell the guy to put his plates away if it bothers you. Ask him to wipe off sweat....or just deal with it...press on and remove the weight or wipe the sweat it it bothers ya. I will tell you the ONLY thing that bothers me in my gym is the fact that the towels they give you to shower with are mere dishrags. You would think that a military installation would provide a full towel and not a napkin damn near....i have started bringing my own...lol
240 with abs...your worst nightmare.
