Question Liberals: How much more taxes should I have to pay?

My income last year was $120k

After all of the taxes (including self employment tax) I pay 40% to the government

How much more should I pay to support all of the entitlement programs for people who contribute nothing?

Income tax is immoral because it essentially establishes that the government owns you. Personal liberty and freedom are left to question when the government gets to decide how much money you're allowed to keep from the job you hold.

Taxes on goods and services would be considered moral taxes.

Kinda, definitely lean that way somewhat. I generally argue for Libertarian positions a lot because I am fairly certain it's an effective system (still a few doubts about anarchy) and if an anarchistic society is possible a libertarian one would be a required stepping stone.

The worst are the NYC income and sales taxes, which go directly to those who are mooching off the system.

I'm liberal and yes your overpaying... I made just a hair over 150K last year. My total taxes including property put me over 42%. If I figured in HC then it put me around 45%. I did the math and in my home country of Denmark (Socialist country) I would have paid slightly more but when I account for school loans then guess what I would have saved. On top of that the country does 10x the job when it comes to social programs. How it breaks down is basically political system has reached such corruption that we simply can't get **** done.

Toss this one around for a minute. If we had a standard national benefits such as HC and vacation then we wouldn't have these useless hack in the public sector that would rather sit idle do as little as they can till they can collect that pension. The workforce would feel free to shift around. A evolving shifting workforce is more experienced and is more enthusiastic. Basically higher productivity. Liberal spin on how to achieve a conservative agenda. Or conservative outcomes through some liberal concept application. Whatever, nothing will ever change. This country if fuarked.

Hell, I don't even care about you. My family makes about that much. I'd like people who make at least 1 million to have to pay 50-60%
Thank God I gross $999,999/yr, so I wouldn't have to pay your yet to be determined rate between 50% and 60%.
