hi guys, i am currently following mark rippletoes starting strength programme and am doing really well and finding it enjoyable. however, looking to the future, after starting strength i want to focus on a more bodybuilding orientated routine. all the routines i have looked are splits such as;
day 1 chest triceps shoulders
day 2 off
day 3 back biceps
day 4 off
day 5 legs
day 6 off
day 7 off
meaning that after working a body part you would have a week off before working it again. however, someone else told me that having a week off would be too much rest for that body part and i should try and work each part more frequently to gain mass?
please can someone help me out as i am very confused? i am a beginner and am keen to learn a lot.
cheers.

Training with frequency that low works better for those with more training experience. Once you're done with SS you could run an intermediate program for size where you hit each muscle a couple times a week, and once your gains stop on that you could look at a routine where you hit each muscle once a week.

Bro, Full body work outs 3 times a week for now. I hate sounding like a broken record but buy the book "Starting Strength" By Rippetoe or "Practical Programming" which will answer all of this for you. Great sources of information. But the short version is Linear Progression with compound lifts for now. You can work your whole body 3 times a week and be just fine with enough cals coming in. Highly suggest PP it's a great read.
