I have a Cap standard bench press set. It can only hold 350 pounds max including the user's body weight. I was wondering if there was a way to reinforce it myself so it can hold more weight. I was planning on just buying a better barbell if I could reinforce the bench.

You can do it with wood and the like if you are good at DIY.. The main part to bolster up is where the shoulders sit. It depends on the design of the bench though. Have you got a pic of it?
