i think i saw somewhere that all the dungeons will be built randomly in every playthrough? i.e. they put 'chunks' of pre-built maps together in order to get different layouts every time? can somebody comment on this?
also, i'm having extreme first world problems in that i can't decide between a wiz or lady barb as my 1st char
Your gonna play both at one time or another though and since its your very first character when the game first comes out so how much it matters what char you start with will be

i recommend doing a little research and then flipping a coin if you really can't decide

lol fair point. if the longevity allows it, i'll be playing this game for years

That is correct. It is how dungeon generation has always been in Diablo games.
is it true you cant kill people in dungeons anymore?
Yea, they eliminated the concept of Hostility and thus, world pvp / random pvp has died in D3.
Instead they relegated all player versus player activities to an organized Arena system, much like the one in WoW, where you queue up through a matchmaking process and gets ported to a designated area with predetermined rules and settings. As far as I am aware, there is going to be an internal ladder/ranking system to bring out the competitive edge, but casual, spontaneous and unorganized PvP as we know it from D2 has died with D3.

Not even dueling will be possible, unless they make a 1v1 arena (I'm not sure if there will be or not, but chances are there will be)
I still haven't had a cheat meal since they announced + 10 days. I will have the biggest ****ing cheat meal/meals once the game is out may 15. My goal is to only eat 120% clean until release.

Not only does he get the, when a blow that would have killed you heals you to 35% hp (every 3 or 5min) passive, but he has a passive that also allows him to stack a single resistance. The passive makes all resistances equal to that of the Monk's highest resistance. I'm hoping that also applied to physical resistance. Between that and a huge dodge %, he'll be nasty.
I'm sure the 3rd passive slot could be a dodge passive, but I can't look up the skills at work...
Lol, okay get gear to focus on 1 resistance => easy.

Some misconceptions here.
They`ve changed the farming in D3 from how it was in D2. In D2 you killed a boss, got the loot, exited the game, join a new game, repeat.
In D3, the first time you kill a boss it drops good loot. If you use that char to kill that boss again the loot will be significantly worse. They did this to eliminate the cycle above.
Instead the farming comes from killing champion mobs that are randomly placed throughout the game. I believe they drop stuff on par with what you get the first time you kill a boss. This makes it so people have to explore rather than do boss runs all day.
Theres also a new buff thats still in development. If you kill a champion mob you gain a buff which gives extra item drops if you then kill a boss. This buff goes away if you change skills or leave the game.
D2 already has this system its called quest drop and can be exploited

this is good
i don't want some lvl 60 phaggot one-hitting my low lev character just because he felt like it.
and remember it's all online now... so there literally needs to be a place where people can PvP so others can PvE

They'll probably add a 1v1 arena, I'm sure there'll be demand for it.
I can see the appeal of the spontaneous system but I prefer it this way, makes more sense to keep the PVP and PVE separate imho.

I am sure Arena pvp will be tons of fun, I am just a little bit sad that the thrill of spontaneous pvp will be completely eliminated.
That feel, when you are in a game and a few phaggots come and gank your lowbie char. Then you get your main pvp char and hunt them down and completely annihilate them.
That feel, when you are in an 8 player public pvp game, and people start forming coalitions against each other. And you call your friends to come and help you dominate the game.
That feel when you go 1 vs 7, and they all try to kill you ONCE just so they can corpsecamp you forever. That feel when you then leave and rejoin, only to start ganking all over again (heh)
That feel when someone de-parties you in chaos sanctuary or cow game, and steals all the loot and XP, and you go hostile and hunt them all down and smash them.
All those feels will be gone
But new feels will arise. That feel when you are on top of the European ladder in 3v3, and people from all over the world armory you to check your gear/build/gems etc.
Organized is a fixed experience that tend to get boring fast, while spontaneous will always have that certain spark - you never know what's gonna happen. Same thing that made world pvp in wow so damn fun and attractive.
but on a slightly different note, there has been 2 new class previews released in the past week. Check em out!

Is it just me or is everyone and their mother going to be rolling barbarians?
Barbs have been a staple character in Diablo games and IMO they are very easy to play, so expect to see a lot of them. I played one in D2 and had a ton of fun with him. For D3, I'm torn between WD and Barb, so I'll probably flip a coin like the day before and go from there.
Is it just me or is everyone and their mother going to be rolling barbarians?
If you mean on the Misc, then it's probably pretty biased. Considering the barbarian is probably the class that most lifters relate to the best; strong, muscular, brutal, aggressive, virile, "alpha". And also because the class is familiar.
Same way that girls always tend to pick the healer class in games like WoW (nurturing), and race is usually female elves, sleek, beautiful, feminine.
Could also just be a coincidence
Personally I'll be rolling either a Wizard or female Witch Doctor. Caster classes always seem to have an advantage in these types of games, it's just easier to avoid trouble and stay out of bad stuff when your movement is not limited to where the monster is located, and also because I was a huge sorc player in D2, a mesmer in Guild Wars (warlock/dot/curse type class), and shadowpriest in wow.
And female because... well check this out:
(Spoiler warning! all Witch doctor tier armors are displayed in this video)
Female animations are just infinitely better than the male. What's up with the shaky hand lol. Easy choice there.
