Cardio on machines is sooooo boring!! After many (unsuccessful) attempts to lose weight by spending hours on the treadmill/elliptical i would give up each and every time. It just got too boring to do it long term to stay fit. I think i just thought it was the only way to lose weight.
Same with ab work - i wanted a tighter tummy so i did a million crunches a million reps on the ab machines thinking that was what you are supposed to do.
I still do cardio now but i jog outdoors with my dog instead only for half an hour in the mornings. Enough to keep me fit but not enough that i'm there for hours. Also i do 2 kettle bell classes a week for core strength (and cardio). Soooo much more fun that crunches :P

well i never really seen women at any of the gyms that i go to . ... So i would have no clue of what they like to do or what. Ive seen very very few women in my entire life at a gym. Just personal opinions and facts of what i have personally seen at the gyms that i have gone to over the course of my life...
Women just dont seem to be that into working out. I might see one or two females there out of hundreds of males.

I think most people think way to get tight toned abs is to train them. Not a fan either of direct ab work or cardio. You want to be lean adjust diet.

When I see women doing 500 crunches I just smile and walk right on over to the weight room with the men! I would love a six pack but I cannot make myself do abs consistently. I throw them in on occassion on my leg day.
In speaking to women about abs they have no clue that they can sit there and do abs for 2 hours every single day of the week but if their BF% is not low enough they will never see them. They think they will magically appear!**DIRTYSOUTHCREW**

Can I ask what gym? I have to move to Cleveland in a couple months for a new job. And looking for a gym that doesn't suck.
As for the topic at hand, I think girls are in denial about how much work/time it requires. It's easier to do 30 mins of cardio, a few crunches and call it a work out. At least my friends haven't figured it out yet.

I live for the abductor machines, leg press, leg extension and leg curl machines. These are my only reason for going to the gym. I also love cardio.

I dont go to the gym anymore but I have a lot at home and when talking to my friend about what I was using for workouts and getting more into weights and with protein etc- she said 'you sound like a crazy bodybuilder' and I've been trying to explain that woman cant bulk to that extent and its still important to do and burns fat too. I really want to work on my abs to see them but I understand its about diet too and incorporating weights.
I think a lot of younger people go to the gym and its more about being able to say they've been but yeah its focused on the wrong things, then they eat fast food and go out drinking too but think its fine because they go to the gym. Like after having a full weekend of drinking its more like 'time to hit the treadmill now, burn the cals'.

WOMEN with muscle are the most beautiful creatures on the planet. You're just jelly cause we look better than you!
Plus every woman on the planet has abs and legs(well, mostly)... But usually they're all hidden under a huge layer of fat. So you're saying every woman on the planet is beautiful! Good post guy!
