    Alcohol and Keto

So, it's Friday night and I'm feeling a little spry. I've already lost 8lbs and I'm feeling great. Me and the boys are wanting to go out and get yucky tonight and I was wondering what types of alcohol I should be drinking. I'm not ready for a carb up yet, as it's only my 1st week. But I want to live a little. I don't want this diet to be so stressful that I can't do some of the things I want, and the good thing about this diet is, is it's rather easy to get back into.

So, I've read some information about alcohol and keto already, but I wouldn't mind some first hand experiences. I've read that being carb depleted leads to getting drunker faster, so I'll pace myself tonight. I've also read that a few types of vodka have little to no carbs. My plan is to drink straight vodka tonight, but not toooo much. But enough to get yucky.

Anyone have an experiences to share? Anyone think this is just a bad idea in general? Good idea?

I would stick to shots with little to no carbs. And pace yourself while drinking plenty of water. Before going out, hit protein and get your veggies in.

Liquor and something diet. I like Bacardi and diet Dr. pepper or something like that. Pace yourself or it can get ugly quickly, trust me LMAO!! Don't over do it on the calories either, with the drinks OR the food. I start to crave bad, carby, deliciousness when I have alcohol so just be aware of what you are eating while buzzed. Be safe!

I will have up to 5 gin and soda's when I'm out and want to stay in ketosis... but any more than that and I may get sick in the morning.

Seriously, a depleted body does not handle booze well, so take it easy.

I aint no panty-waist either. I'm a bar-tender, former rugby player, and hairy-german... I can handle my booze.

Sweet. Good info. Sounds like everything will be fine as long as I'm smart about it. I'll have to really watch out about not getting so drunk I stuff my face like I used to. We used to always hit up qdoba or Denny's after we got wasted. That'll be my biggest problem. But I can handle it.

Trust me, you don't want to experience a keto hangover. Cut your tolerance in half, that's a good starting point to plan ahead.
