You guys do realize oil is a global commodity and there isnt anything one person can do to lower the price, right?

Drilling here is an option but it will be many years before we would see any change(IF any change) and by that time, the price of oil will be higher anyway. Im for drilling but lowering dependency is the most viable long-term solution. Get off oil and let the world fight it out.

The US is already the 3rd largest producer of oil so the increase we would have to put out to lower prices would be very high but we havent built a refinery since 1976 so what are we going to do once we increase production? We use more in 1 day than every refinery in the US can handle.

The answer is to use less oil. Yes, it will take time and yes gas prices will continue to rise. As economies rise, the price of oil will rise.

Or you could vote for Gingrich since he will have gas prices at $2.50 when he is elected. Derp.
