    Question tips on retaining muscle while cutting...

    i was just wondering what has worked the best for everyone in terms of when they are cutting and trying to minimize muscle loss...anyone got any tips on maximising fat loss while retaining as much muscle as poss?

    -Make sure to eat a smaller meal every 3 hours that contains protein.
    -Have some casein protein before bed(cottage cheese)
    -Do some sort of cardio(I run 1 mile every day)
    -Eat healthy fats
    -Eat fibrous veggies

    Yep all of the above except I would add that in your weight training, you need to strive to do as much or more weight in each lifting session. That wasy you keep your strangth up and assure yourself that you're not getting weaker and losing muscle.

    I agree on eating smaller meals more frequently. Even when you are not cutting this has helped me maintain weight and not eat like as much at normal meals. I do drink milk too and think it is good before bed as it curbs the late night hunger for me. I also like a fruit smoothie each day too....not the ones at a smoothie shop but basic frozen mixed fruit and OJ or Apple juice. I don't add other stuff that adds sugar. You get a treat as well as a healthy benefit.
