We would need a little more information here. The Olympic lifts will generally not develop strength. Squats, deadlifts, and presses will generate strength. The Olympic lifts will help you generate power and explosiveness. If that's what you want, then yes, the power versions will work just fine. However, if you don't know how to do the lifts, then even those will not really do much for you.

This needs further comment as this is a bit simplistic. There is actual interplay between the slow strength lifts and the olympic lifts. Yes with traditional slow moves you use heavier weights and the technique doesnt need to be as strict. What is missing is the instability and coordination that olympic lifting requires. There is a definite interaction in terms of performing olympic lifts and performing regular slow lifts as this enhanced coordination from the olympic lifts definitely benefits regular lifts.
If you dont know how to do the lifts? You have to start somewhere. I work on snatches with 75 lbs. That is all because my coordination and timing is not well achieved yet, although I can do barbell rows with 300 lbs. I also rep 400 for sets of 9 on regular deadlifts, yet doing cleans with 175 is difficult. Why? My speed is not there nor is the coordination.
There is something else. Olympic lifting is fun! Although my weight is laughable on snatches and doing snatch squats, Im willing to forego the ego to do the lifts properly, and over time, build speed and strength. If nothing else, the challenge and applicability of olympic lifting has so many real world applications to help keep a person injury free, such as having correct reflexes while walking on ice in cold weather.
Dont worry about what weight you are doing on olympic lifts when training. Focus on technique and feel so the form is correct. You cannot force this and it takes a long time.
