    how bad/good is Pesto?

I love fettucine pesto but also noticed that the thing is really oily. I was wondering if this pasta is good for you. i am not trying to lose weight and trying to bulk up, yet i also don't want that flabby tummy. I'm at 140 currently. thanks!

well pesto is usually high in fat, but you can lower that amount of fat if you make it yourself and control the ingredients...it seems ilke healthy fats tho, the oil, nuts, plus its good b/c of the spinach or whatever veggie you put in

I like to make my own pesto with fresh basil, garlic and extra virgin olive oil. Yes it has fat but its definitely good fat. Just use it in moderation.

I believe a traditional basil pesto recipe is pine nuts, basil, garlic, and lots of olive oil. Obviously these are all good foods, but the combination is mostly fat.

I think if you like it, use it, but consider it the fat source of the meal, and use it lightly.

If you are using it for pasta for example, and your meal is too dry with just a tad of it, try mixing it with some marinara sauce to make it go further.

Smile Pesto is a flavoring, not the main course

Yeah, its high in fat, but its no big problem if u use a reasonable amount & fit it into ur macro-nutrient plan.
