Exclamation Sharp pain in between shoulder blades when I tilt head, any ideas?

I've noticed the day after I do certain exercises I have pain in my upper back which seems connected with my neck and shoulder blades.

I've noticed this after doing situps while holding a plate, barbell curls, and recently high incline bench press. I feel the pain when I drop my head forward or back. It will heal after a couple of days but I think it will happen again after these exercises.

I'm not sure if I am straining my neck muscles during the exercise, or if I am accidently moving my body out of alignment or what. I am having a hard time pinpointing what I am doing wrong. I've been doing these exercises for a long time but it's just started happening regularly in the past month.

    Any ideas would be appreciated.

I had this and now i have fudged up shoulders and the ligaments got minor tears and are taking forever to heal, my rotator cuff got hurt as a result, theyll probably never be quite the same. So just be careful, maybe take a little off from working whatever parts hurt, dont do any motion that hurts, make sure your posture is good. Just be careful, if you keep hurting it w/o giving it proper time to heal it will only get worse. if it keeps happening after a long time you may want to see a doc or mention it next time you go.

Yeah, I have always had very low bodyfat naturally. An ectomorph. So I am still pretty light even after putting on muscle. And thanks for the info!

I don't know what you're experiencing, but that's about the time when I visit my chiropractor.

Damn, that doesn't sound good. I'm guessing I made a mistake somewhere with my form and now this thing is having trouble healing completely with me lifting heavy regularly.

I will do my best to take a week off, but it's gonna be hard to go that long without lifting. But I don't want this to get any worse. Hopefully I can figure it out and get it to stop. I've been working out for years and have never had this problem before now.

Yall can try to stretch your neck (tilt to one side for 15 secs, then change, repeat 2-3 times) and stretch your pecs doing the doorway stretch, thats what the PT doc told me seemed to help or at least i have flexible neck now. Hope it gets better, gl
