I've been hearing about this gallon of milk a day thing to help gain weight.
I'm a hard gainer and I'm tempted to try it.
Anyone try it? Or hear anything good about it? Results?

I wouldn't do it, just because of the amount of sugar/carbs you will take in by doing that. I used to drink around 3 gallons per week when I played college football at 300 pounds and that was A LOT. I would stick to just eating more clean foods- maybe try a good weight gainer shake with some milk. Just my opinion, but I wouldn't. You would also have to think you'd get sick of milk really quick.

Just eat more? I love these posts...if your a hard gainer you just need to eat more. Protein shake: Whole Milk + 2 scoops of protein powder + banana + honey + peanut butter + ice.
I'm having eggs for breakfest, well let me add a few peices of whole wheat toast with jelly, + milk + some fruit...snack all the time..
This isnt hard.-HitTheRack.net-

I've been recommending a half gallon a day of skim milk to the younger guys at my gym. (In addition to their normal diets.) Those that have followed it have put on some good size. The best I heard was 6 lbs in a month, with 4-5 being about average. They were all trying to pack on quick mass for spring break and were successful IMO. I remember reading about the GOMAD diet in an older book over five years ago but I just can't see anyone actually drinking a full gallon every day without feeling like arse and being able to eat a variety of foods. If someone has pulled this off for a month or so, I'd love to hear their results, I'm sure it works wonders.

This is actually why I dont get the whole GOMAD thing either. At least where I live, a gallon of milk goes for like $6 or $7.
OP, if you can afford that, then you can afford to get a mass gainer like Real Gains (yeah i know you can make your own, but i'm trying to make this as easy as just drinking milk). Stuff is $1.86 per serving. Do that 2x or 3x a day with 1 cup of skim milk. I think you'll hit around 2,100 calories (w/ the skim milk) and easily 150g+ of protein. You can argue pros and cons, but I'd rather drink those 3 cups of milk w/ the Real Gains vs. having to drink an entire gallon of milk every day. And with the 3 shakes (which are actually pretty small), should be sort of easy to get the rest of your caloric needs from food, or at least much easier.

I only drink 2 to 4 cups of fat free milk a day with my shake or as a add on for extra protein with my meals. And I only drink Smart balance or simply smart fat free milk with added protein, calcium and omega 3's. It taste rich and creamy just like 2% milk. Awesome stuff. A gallon of any milk especially whole is not a good idea guys unless your a baby gorilla and you need it to grow up to be 400 lbs lol

There are just some people who's metabolisms are geared so high that they can eat 5,000 calories a day and they don't gain a pound, and then there are some who just look at a cheeseburger and gain 10 lbs lol. Its crazy. we are all built differently and what works for some just does not work for others. Gaining weight is very hard for those who have a super fast all day running metabolism.

Former Auschwitz mode here,
I ran GOMAD for 90 days straight over a summer to get some serious mass because I was at an extremely unhealthy weight (Think 6'2, 130). I gained about 35 pounds that summer, and I had a six pack by the end. If you're extremely skinny and an extreme hard gainer, this will benefit you. My athletic ability increased by orders of magnitude, and I was healthier because of it. I did whole milk, BTW. I had awful acne at the end, too.Arizona State '15

I tried this and it lasted about 4 days before I quit. Basically what happened is I was left feeling bloated and uncomfortable. The mass amounts of milk in my guts made it harder for me to eat solids, because of how full I was. I felt like I was sweating grease when I was doing it too. It was a very disgusting process that I quickly abandoned in favor of a real diet. To put the icing on the cake, it made me **** explosively. Maybe I have slight lactose intolerance at high amounts, but I eat half a 500g tub of cottage cheese before bed without any problems. Try GOMAD by all means. Its probably a different result for everyone. I for one hated it.
p.s. the mass amounts of sugar in milk are a big no no, which is another big reason I didn't keep pushing on with it.

hardgainer = visit www.fitday.com
Enter EXACTLY what you eat in a day for a week. Report back with results. There's much better ways to pack on "mass" than to do GOMAD.
