{GSP} The only reason it is good to lift weights, to do bench press, and stuff like that, I believe, is because it is going to make me more marketable, and to keep myself looking more symmetric, with a better image... Which is very important, because if you look good, you feel good, and if you feel good, you do good. There's nothing wrong with that you know.
You lift weights for looks?
{GSP}Yeah, I lift weights for looks. Yeah, I am gonna admit it. Sometimes after I'm training, I'm gonna lift weights, but I'm not doing it because I'm gonna punch harder, or I'm gonna be stronger, because it has nothing to do with it. I'm doing it because you know, I want to to be like you know, have a good shape. I do it for myself.
You tell em Georges. Disregard strength and conditioning, acquire aesthetics.

OP made a retarded title. Even if those are legit GSP comments about weight lifting he's not saying he doesn't believe in strength and conditioning...just saying he doesn't believe in doing weight lifting for that.
Guy has some of the best cardio in the business, he's obviously doing something right training wise.

Josh koscheck has more muscles than gsp and got owned.
Sean serk and frank trig had muscles. Lifting doesn't help you won fights, training to fight does. Being a better fighter.

He is trolling. Serious. He absolutely does weight lifting to be more explosive.
He has also said before that he doesnt train conditioning because he thinks hev doesnt need to but we all know he trains conditioning. He really likes to troll about training and everyone should really know that he doesnt do it for bodybuilding due to the type of routine we all know he does.you wanna know how i did it, this is how, i never saved anything for the swim back.

I really think GSP trolls about his training like this because he wants to be thought of as a great fighter and not just a great athlete.
And gtfo with this bull**** that weight lifting is useless for fighting. Strength training might not be the end all be all of what makes a fighter great and yes fighting talent or skill will always eclipse who is stronger but that does not mean it is of no use. Both strength and power can be built with weight lifting and it shouldn't be ignored, especially by athletes who are very strength oriented in their fighting style.
