i kind of agree, i'm not a fan and I don't find their vocals all too appealing. But one thing I simply don't understand: most metal fans seem to only be able to appreciate one style of harsh vocals: gutturals, mids, highs, screams etc. It's all gold!

That Rivers of Nihil though. hnnnnnng.

I think Kataklysm has moved well beyond being boring as phuck. Same stuff on the last two or three albums. Yawn. Same tired old lyrical themes, too. Maurizio Iacono needs to stop writing uninspired drivel for awhile. Not only that, but they've fully bought into gimmicks with this "10 concept videos for each song on the album" garbage. LOL

More new stuff...

Krisiun and pre-2008 Cryptopsy were two of my favorite non-melodic death metal bands lol

CoB used to easily be top 3 bands for me. Putting out 5 bad to mediocre albums in a row though is disappointing. Just have to accept the fact that we'll never get another Hatebreeder or Follow The Reaper. Such a shame because Alexi is such a good guitarists, he must have run out of all the sick riffs and melodies from the Hatebreeder + FTR days.

Loved their last release. Everything before was awesome too, but I feel like this band gets better w every release. I can't wait for a new one.

Def spot on with the Death comparison. Sounded really good, but I have a feeling this band is going to be among the highly overrated. Nothing modern or genre pushing about it. Just very well written classic death metal.
