New vid for the best track (IMO) off Dillinger's new LP

Directed by Mitch Massie, the same guy who did Forced Gender Reassignment. Awesome vid.

You guys really not liking the new Amon Amarth? It's nothing new, but I think it's way better than their last album. Songs like Warriors of the North, We Shall Destroy, Deceiver of the Gods are pretty good.

The first teaser track they released was good. Based on what I heard of the album from samples, the rest is nothing to write home about.

Any good underground metal podcasts out there? I listen to the hells headbangers podcast which is pretty entertaining but it's more talk than music.

Really looking forward to that new Gorguts album too. Gonna be ****ing incredible.

I was dissapointed with the new Dillinger compared to Option Paralysis, something about the production, the sound of it, bothers me. It seems sloppier and less controlled than their previous albums, like they were going for a more raw, old school hardcore influenced sound. Still some great songs on it though, When I Lost my Bet, Paranoia Shields, Magic that I Held you Prisoner in particular.

The albums decent enough. Not standout but I think if it was some new band that came out with the same album I'd be a lot more into it, but since it's Amon Amarth it's mediocre.

Anyway it's an improvement over their last. My biggest gripe with Amon Amarth is they when I saw them live they messed up like 3 times and had to start songs over, including on Runes to my Memory. It's a little disheartening for a band to be unable to play one of the first songs you learned yourself on guitar -__-

The only podcast/radio show that I know of that is consistently good is Liquid Metal. You have to pay for Sirius though.

I continually miss the best tours. Dying Fetus has another this fall, can't make any dates for it. Feels bad man.

edit: Who the **** did Gorguts hire to mix their album? Lemay's vocals are almost completely drowned out.

Aware of liquid metal, my buddy at my last job used to always have it on. But I'm too cheap to pay for radio, rather buy CDs or some vinyl. Thanks for the response though!

Upon further listening of the new Gorguts single, it seems like the vocal production was intentional. Also, I must have been listening to ultra chitty YouTube quality at the time. I listened with 1080p - sounds much better.

Well it's only one song but it definitely sounds like a natural progression from Gorguts... Maybe more atmospheric on this track than their previous albums, it seems that there's some sort of intense reverb on the instruments that makes everything ring out and persist in the soundstage. That being said it definitely sounds better than Obscura did production wise, but whether or not it will compare is hard to say at this point. Looks promising though.

Although I think it's unfair to quantify it as a "decade of waiting" since it's not like they've spent over 10 years working on this album, unlike Necro****ist.

Vehemence! Awesome concept album for anyone who hasn't heard it before. The guitars are really melodic and songs well constructed, the drummer has a unique feel and the vocals are amongst my favorite death metal vocals ever.
