***CL Gold Feast Final Review***
Controlled Labs
-
Gold Feast
Controlled Labs, being the generous company they're well known for as well as retaining some of arguably the most personable board representatives, hooked up many a person with their new MRP only asking for honest reviews and logs. This, while generous, was highly unnecessary as it is already common knowledge how great Golden Gains was (their previous MRP) as well as knowing that everything CL releases is quality; people would've jumped ship regardless. I was one of these lucky peeps picked, and here's my final review of their Gold Feast.
Final Review
GOLD FEAST – 9/10
Originally Posted by Initial Review thoughts on Taste
Taste: 9/10 – I’m not huge on lemon flavoring in general. With that in mind, 1 serving + 2 cups of milk = pretty damn good. It’s not an overly lemon flavor, like it was with water (a 8/10 rating, personally) but creamy and more pleasant to the taste buds. Definitely a nice change of pace from Cinnabon, Vanilla Cupcake Batter, and CPB. Easy to wake up and slam a shake back, which is not normal for me because I’m not a breakfast person (love the food, just never hungry upon waking) – whereas I actually look forward to this every morning (at the time of this review, it’s been ~4 days).
**Water definitely grew on me; I rated it a 6.5 but after a recent water binge (that is, too lazy to go buy another gallon of milk) - tis definitely not too shabby and has grown on me.
My final review changes things up a bit.
Taste: 9.5/10 - I don't like giving 'perfect' ratings, but this almost got the nod. As you can see above, my initial thoughts pointed towards milk being bangggin' (don't get me wrong, it is easily a 9/10 in milk) -- but good gracious did the water grow on me. I undoubtedly prefer water as my solvent of choice. Very easy on the stomach, and the taste bros, the taste I'm certainly not a fan of proteins in water (I can think of no other protein that I PREFER in water, and a small, small handful of proteins I can tolerate in water), but this > all without an inkling of doubt. I drank a GF shake in water daily after spending my first week in the milky creaminess (wut?), and I miss it now.
Mixability: 8.5/10 – It’s a MRP with a ton of other goodies, and even with that NOT in mind it still mixes extremely well. If you allow it to sit, of course the extra grit/complexes will settle. A quick shake-weight maneuver and slam it back and you’re good to go.

Some minor settling

Some frothiness - CL recommends using a spoon to stir to avoid this; however, I don't mind it a bit... so shaker cup it is

Pure delishness
Misc thoughts: The smell of the powder, especially after mixing is not quite the most tasteful smell in the world; but once the golden viscousness meets the palate, s’all good. I will definitely pick up a tub following this one, as it’s versatile as hell. Random fact, but my grandma loves it too, and plans to use it for pie/ice cream. She doesn’t like cold milk, but likes slushy milk (wut?) so she added a scoop to ~5 oz milk and semi-freezes it and has it as a post-dinner snack occasionally and loves it. Ergo, passes the old fart test. Everybody has their go-to MRP... and guaranteed THIS will be that go-to Meal Replacement for everybody that makes the jump. $38 for 30 true servings of a MRP? I'm sold.
Side note: Since completing the log and finishing the tub they sent me, I haven't replaced my tub (coming soon with my next order) -- and daammn I miss it.
Again, I appreciate the generosity Controlled Labs and gang.

Thanks fellas
If anybody has any more questions on Gold Feast or any CL products, I'd be glad to field them via PM, if I've tried them (ie, most of their line).

Milk is where many a quality protein shines, and GF is certainly another one of these proteins...
but if it shines in water as well (more so in water, IMO )? Check. Mate.
