SRS. I lost a dear friend last night.

My good friend whom recently returned to south florida (was living in NY) after a break up with his GF of 6 years was killed in an accident.

He was a young guy and the nicest I have ever met. He was babysitting his sisters children, when he called me to shoot the **** about his new life in south florida. We spoke about school and a job interview he aced. He has only been down there for a week.

apparently 3 hours later (~2am), someone slammed into the back of his sedan, without warning. The impact whiplashed his neck so terribly, it severed his spine and left him brain dead. Upon arrival to trauma center he was immediately put on a ventilator, doctors told his family in the nicest way that my friend derek was not going to make it...but needed to go through proper procedure to rule out the lack of brain function, which they recently have.

I am 1,200 miles away...i feel helpless.

i tears me up to see all these people unaware at the magnitude of the crash, since they dont know details... they are posting things like " GET BETTER, YOU CAN PULL THROUGH THIS! " or "i hope you have a speedy recovery" on his ********.

when in fact the truth is that my friend is already dead, he has been dead from the moment it happened. I havent posted anything like "RIP" or given any indication of his passing....since i am waiting for his family to announce it.

life can be so unfair.

i guess, the moral to this is.... life is precious, cherish it to the fullest.

i woke to find my TV/xbox on, which i probably turned on for background noise. What made me break down was the fact that my friends xbox live account, was signed in... for a minute i thought i just had a nightmare, and my friend wasnt in any accident.

Damn dude. I still do this today (almost 3 years now) with my dad. I sometimes wake up and am like "I should call him and tell him how I had this crazy dream about him dying..."

When reality sets in, its harder than anything.
Stay strong for him and his family bro. My prayers are with you, him, and his family. And I most sincerely mean that.

i just get random spells where i just cry.

I have been looking at his ******** all day, watching the support pile in......everyone so optimistic.

i finally said **** it and i posted a letter to my friend Derek, acknowleging his passing ( since my now his organs were being removed ) yet no one on his ******** was updated...i dont blame them, his family is all in the hospital.

its a very sad loss....

I'm truly sorry to hear that bro, damn. A good friend of mine who I grew up with died in a car crash last week, so I can relate. Stay strong man, it is hard no doubt about it, but stay strong. The whole ordeal sounds really tragic...and it sucks losing someone you love like that. At first it seems surreal, and it sucks when you have to force yourself to believe it's true...

I hope you and his family can handle the situation well. Keep your loved ones close. Wish I had more to say, I'm really sorry about your loss.

oh my, i cant even imagine losing my father. He is my world.

my friend who passed is everywhere on both mine and my friends ******** in terms of comments, re-reading them is almost chilling.

she and her family are flying down this day. Afterall, he was with her for 6 years and basically part of her family..

too bad she cheated on him and caused him to leave abruptly and flee to florida where we originally grew up

i cant blame her though for his death, bitches are bitches... but this whole thing could have been avoided.
