Just outa curiousity, for the celebs/peoplein magazines, tv, etc..... do they flex when they pose? Can people look ripped/shredded without flexing?
I'm sorry if that's a stupid question, but I really don't know.
Me for example, when I'm relaxed, there's only so much definition. However, when I flex, it's another story... 6 pack.. heeeeeee30 Day Fitness Challenge

I have been doing 120 crunches every other night for about 7 months now and I barely even have a 6 pack.
Look at my profile pic, it's only when I flex u can sort of see one, and it's not ripped. When relaxed, it's mostly just slightly toned where u can see muscle down the center vertically but not a 6 pack.
I guess I need to keep doing crunches and lower my bf significantly to get what you're talking about, not flexing while having a 6 pack

abs are a muscle just like your arms/legs/back/etc don't do 120 crunches do about 10 weighted ones at the gym.
It's quite possible. Get down to 8% bf and you can see a six pack at all times quite vividly I have a friend who has attained that:

He's lucky however the reason he keeps it is because of he has an unreal metabolism. He does show it is possible though and no he isn't flexing in that pictureSEA Legend

More than just crunches bro...1 ab workout for each section of abs and some cardio. Have to get that Bf% down for them to be ripped.
Long term goals are extremely important, but short term goals get you there.
When it comes to bodybuilding you get exactly what you put in.
it doesn't matter where you start...the point is, your starting.

I hate it when people think they'll get abs from just crunches...you know theres about 30 ab exercises on the site you can do WITHOUT machines....believe me variety is good when it comes to abs.

I wouldn't use weighted abdominal exercises unless i were trying to build up my core strength at expense to asthetic appeal.
Stan McQuay does 3x25 crunches as his abdominal workout and his abs are amazing. The key is flexing at the highest and lowest ranges of movements and to take it excruciatingly slow.
And that guy is a ****ing skeleton. He does not have a good 6 pack, use someone that actually has one.US ARMY Noncommissioned Officer
