does IF actually yield greater results (increased GH, cortisol, etc) or is it just another eating style that you should only chose if it works for you? im looking for opinions as to whether this is just another fad diet or a legit method that aids in fat loss/muscle gain.
Ive been doing it for a week now, and one thing i noticed is that i tend to sit down at the end of the day and slam down 2500+ calories in a sitting to meet my macros. I think its starting to effect my sleep since i go to bed with such a full stomach.
Can i get some opinions on this?

has SOME potential to be slightly better but main benefit is adherence
You are not a fragile ornament ready to collapse into an exhausted mass of goo simply because you squatted more than once in a 7-day week.
It'd be like preparing your entire life to bang 100 chicks in a row, getting tan, hitting the gym, making sure your hair looks right and reading the Kama Sutra, only to realize when you get there that you're gay and cannot get hard in the presence of women.

The only meaningful differentials are likely compliance and focus, as some folks report improved hunger management and enhanced mental focus (resulting in better gym performance) when using then IF meal schedule.
Might there be slight metabolic advantages and disadvantages to using IF? Sure, but they're likely not significant enough to rise to the level of a noticeable difference in endpoints.

I love IF. I get to eat a nice dinner at night. Other than that I really don't see any benefits. I think every eating protocol has it's merits so it just comes down to which one you can adhere to
If you don't get what you want you didn't want it bad enough
