    Is cardio needed during a cut

    I just got done bulking from 195 to 210 and Have put on some fat. I was wondering if I'm currently doing an intense 5 day split and eating 2400 cals(700 below maintenance) is cardio still necessary because I'm only wanting to cut about 5 pounds of body fat and try and keep a lot of the muscle, also is it smart to take a thermogenic on my cut considering my age

    No, it can be done through weight training as long as you're on a deficit, 500 Cals but doing cardio as a warm up wouldn't be a bad idea, 5-10 mins

    Cardio is never "necessary". Diet is. Looks like you have that down. Just depends on how fast you want to get there. Low intensity cardio is recommended to preserve lean tissue, I on the other hand love HITT and have dropped 55lbs in a year doing 30 mins of cardio 6 times a week and PUT ON 16lbs of LEAN muscle mass. Whoever says you can't bulk while losing fat is wrong.

    *forgot to mention that I also did 5-6 split routines a week lifting heavy

    Best weight so far 187lbs 5/1/2012 - Then got a hot gf a boat and gained fat lol...
    Starting again for the finish line of 180lbs - 11/1/2012 @ 201lbs

    "Needed" to drop fat, no.

    I'm not going to say either way what you *should* do, but I encourage you to search around the 'net for body transformations.

    Look at physiques of those that said they did cardio and those that did not.

    Think about physique you have and the potential look you want to achieve with it.
    It may influence your decision.
