i don't understand whether it's meant to be done on DE or ME days or if it's a different day entirely...
and if it's on DE or ME days then why are the sets and reps schemes so different, isn't DE supposed to be many sets of the chosen similar exercise for 3 reps or so... i'm confused i don't get it

From what I've read, at Westside Barbell for Repetition Method (I know I'm gonna get shit on) they did a lot of reps with extremely submaximal weights like the straight bar or just a band for repeated movements over a few minutes. This was for restoration, etc. after main workout.
And I've read the Repetition Effort from the EliteFTS guys and WS4SB, where it's high rep sets with no accommodating resistance (bands, chains, etc.); like 60% 3x10, or 60% x15, x12, x20 and other weird setups.
I talked to PLer at gym back home about bench, and he said if you don't have chains or bands, just get a lot of VOLUME in on the supposed "DE" day, like do 185, 225, etc. for reps x3 sets, but not to go too heavy (he uses chains so it's a moot point for him).Training Log: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=142268221&welcome=true

so in your estimation what purpose does the powerlifting/ strongman section serve? i was under the impression it was a place for beginners to ask more experienced lifters for clarification regarding ideas and concepts they didn't understand fully
at least isaku900 is trying to get across (albeit rudely) that i'm too inexperienced, weak and unread to do any of these things... but at least he gave a somewhat direct answer regarding the questions i'm asking

well bill already answered in your other thread that you aren't experienced enough, training or programming wise, for westside and that you are better served doing something more simple. so we assumed that you would spend your time now actually lifting and getting strong rather than continuing to ask questions about something you know you shouldn't do.

A lot of this stuff is complicated. Too complicated to explain every detail to everybody that comes along and asks. So when people ask questions that prove that they have barely even done remedial reading, you get a mixed bag of responses. Just keep reading. Trying to understand Louie Simmons articles at first is like trying to read stereo instructions. It took me weeks to come up with a basic understanding of it. And I'm teh smert!!1
It's not like Wendlers 531, where you can get a real grasp of it with one article. That's a HUGE plus to 531 and Jim Wendler... Who also has a degree is Literature I believe. Louie Simmons I'm quite sure does not lol.
Just keep reading for awhile and you won't have to ask so many basic questions and get yelled at so much.

Because they will keep coming. A better solution would be to read the conveniently titled: Sticky: Forum FAQs and Links **Read Before Starting a Thread**, which includes:
2) Q: What is westside? What are their principles?...etc
A: Westside is the newest and most innovative training system out. it involves increasing absolute strength and increasing speed strength. It is comprised of a Maximum Effort Squat day, Dynamic Effort Squat Day, Maximum Effort bench Day, and Dynamic Effort bench day. The success of the westside training principles is based on the program being designed to strengthen your weaknesses. For more information on westside please visit the following sites. http://www.elitefts.com , http://deepsquatter.com/strength/arc...eep/louie2.htm Those two sites will answer virtually any question you have on westside and their training philosophies.
If he has done that and a search which would've revealed Bill's insightful thread inclusive of the answers to these questions amongst others, then I sincerely apologize. He has not done any of that. He has not read the stickies. He is not following the rules. It is annoying.

You are wrong. It is a place for a useful exchange of information amongst people interested in powerlifting. It is not a playground for you to start threads every time you don't understand something without doing any work. You would know that if you actually did any work or used any semblance of common sense. Raise your eye level about 4 inches from your mind-numbing threads and read the Sticky (that means it is pinned in the same place) that says "Read before starting a thread," which means to read that before starting a thread. After that try the Search function. This is a search function on the computer (the thing you are looking at) which will actually search through the Forum to see if these questions have been asked and answered. In some cases you will probably see your own name in the results. Don't let that bother you. You don't need to start another thread about that, read what you said and people responded. Try to remember it. If you want clarification of something post a reply in a thread that already exists.
Bill was not rude. At all. He was stating facts. He was able to pull quotes from one of your other threads about Westside because you keep asking the same thing. A good way to learn something is to shut up and read about it. That means don't waste time starting threads but actually look for the answers. And perhaps do some lifting while you are at it.

tbh if you necro'd a thread to ask a question, it would probably be locked. Seen it happen.
True, he could have read more. It can be confusing with the RE stuff because I've seen people use it a lot differently on a few places like EFS and what Louie or Dave Tate says. I don't think it was necessary to blow up in any way.Training Log: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=142268221&welcome=true

this x1000
give 5/3/1 a shot. (think i posted this in another thread of yours).
you can spend 2 hours reading some wendler articles and understand the program.
I've spent all week reading stuff from Louie and I'm still struggling to grasp how to set up my training.
I'm not an idiot, theres just a TON of information out there, much of it is repititive, and it's all over the place.
So it takes a while. Unless you have a partner that truly understands the system and can help you along the way, you need to spend some time training with a simpler program first.

This thread is not the problem, it is OP's best effort so far at an intelligent well thought out question. The problem is that he keeps asking very basic questions about Westside, getting straight forward answers and then asking the same question or some vairant thereof within 4-6 hours. There are at least half a dozen people who train Westside with great success that have journals on bb.com, there are multiple Westside threads that are easily accessible by search on this very forum, there is a Westside thread started by a mod that is regularly bumped and gets prompt responses, and there are God knows how many other places to actually research the program. If OP can show me that he performed one search function, looked at one log, read the sticky, looked into the book of methods, etc. than yeah, I'm the *******, but he hasn't. He wants to do Westside really bad even though people have told him he shouldn't so he's fishing for somebody to walk him through the program, pat him on the head, and tell him it's okay.

Become an elite lifter then stand on Westside barbell's doorstep "fight club" style until you are invited in. Once on the inside, study Westside for 10 years and you will be ready to write your own programs using this mysterious, confounding and bizarre set of seemingly vague principles.
Good luck sir, you have a great journey ahead of you.
