    That would be pretty grand.
Just remember OP, there is always the option that some of that weight was water + you could have measured at a different time during the day.

You wont see much definition with 21% bf. But if you measured BF at the same time of day, etc, then you made good gains.

Naturally the most lean muscle mass one can gain in a year is about 10 lbs. So with a perfect diet and good routine the most you could have gained was 5 lbs. And the other 17 lbs was pure fat.

also without pics it will be hard to tell. And i highly doubt your bf% is right. But if it is you need to loose a lot of weight and get down to around 10 %.

If it was his first year of training, over 10lbs of lbm is nothing.

But 10 lbs in 6 months even if it is his first year training is highly imporbable naturally.

If you cut to 168 and were able to see good seperation in your muscles and very clear abs. Then you would have been near 8% bf not 16%. Then if you were to bulk from your lean bw which i assume was 168 and if you lifted previously. The most you would have gained was 5 lbs of lean muslcemass. You bulked too much imo. Do you have any before and after pics?

OP you gained about 9lbs of muscle, but your diet was sloppy, so you also added about 10lbs of fat.

OP cut back down to 170 with a strict diet and you'll be around 10-12%.
