    Red face Tail bone rash

Kind of a silly question, but perhaps someone else has had this problem and has a quirky remedy that works.

I have developed a rash on my bum where my tail bone ends. When I do abs on my back (especially V-sits, and things where I'm moving a bit) the bony part rubs against the floor and, bada bing, a rash. Today I went to do abs and it's quite uncomfortable. I don't really want it to get worse.

Any tips would be helpful. Thank you!

Hmmmm...never had that problem. Is it more like carpet burn (from your clothes rubbing against your skin) or an actual bumpy rash? Are you doing your ab work on a mat? At least fold up a towel and put it under you to provide some cushion. If it's an actual rash, maybe it has more to do with sweat getting trapped in synthetic clothing or under lotion and it's just when you do your abs that you notice it's painful...Maybe it's a combo. I did get "bench burn" one time when the gym was humid and my skin was sticking to the bench. Didn't notice it until after my sets were done but one tiny area on both sides felt like they were on fire. It looked like I had two little hickeys. LOL

Yup, rug burn, I notice in the shower when the warm water burns/stings. The gym has been overly crowded so I've relegated myself to a tiny corner of carpet, no mat, that's probably it.

    Thanks!
